On behalf of my team and I, we wish you a very warm welcome to The Chester Grosvenor.
The history of Chester and its most famous hotel have been inextricably linked for many decades.While the existing building dates back to 1865, there has been an inn on this site since the latesixteenth century. Throughout the twentieth century the hotel has earned an enviable reputation for understated elegance, sublime comfort and a relaxed ambience.
The Chester Grosvenor is constantly adapting to meet the changing needs of our guests. We believe our strength lies in our attention to detail and exceptional levels of service.

THE HOTEL
The Chester Grosvenor is a luxury five AA Red Star hotel and ranked as an Inspectors’ Choice property. The hotel is situated in the heart of the historic city of Chester.
Owned by The Duke of Westminster and holding status as a Grade II listed building, this Cestrian landmark rests firmly in the hearts of its guests.
The hotel offers 67 stylish bedrooms and 12 sophisticated suites, each individuallydesigned with rich wall coverings and fabrics, offering a traditional yet contemporary style.

Discover wines from around the world with the knowledge of our Head Sommelier, who is responsible for around 900 bins held within our private dining room ‘The Cellar’, available for exclusive, bespoke dining for up to 14 guests.

LA BRASSERIE
La Brasserie has been a firm favourite on Chester’s dining scene for over 20 years, while still continuing to stand the test of time with the same impeccable service for which The Chester Grosvenor has been renowned for since 1865.
The glamorous Champagne and cocktail bar takes centre stage, a popular choice for pre-dinner drinks, catching up with friends over an impeccably presented cocktail or simply enjoying a glass of fine wine or Champagne.
Overlooking Eastgate Street and offering all day dining, La Brasserie is the perfect spot for people-watching, find a cosy corner and enjoy lunch or dinner away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Choose from the casual dining menu or full à la carte, each includes modern brasserie classics and dishes inspired from further afield. Just a short stroll from Storyhouse, La Brasserie is an excellent choice for pre-theatre dining.
The Josper grill serves an array of grill favourites from steak burgers to rare breed rib chops, all cooked over sizzling red hot coals.

Serving morning coffee, light lunches and a selection of afternoon teas, this is aluxuriously comfortable hidden gem where you can truly escape the city.
The Arkle Bar and Lounge is a stylish venue for a pre-dinner cocktail and is stocked with exceptional malts, cognacs, a wide range of liqueurs and one of the most extensive gin collections in Chester.

‘The Cellar’, the private dining room of our Michelin starred restaurant, provides an atmosphere like no other in Chester, withbespoke menus which are a gastronomic delight. Each course can be complemented with your choice of wine from our extensive collection of around 900 bins, chosen with the help of our expert Sommelier.

MEETINGS AND EVENTS
The Chester Grosvenor has a variety of flexible spaces, which set the scene for an unforgettable meeting, special event or conference.
The Westminster Suite is a large versatile, stylish space with rich colour tones or for smaller events, the panelled walls can divide the room into 6 separate spaces. There is direct access to the car park, a welcome foyer, bar, accessible restroom and cloakroom facilities.
The Gallery is home to a magnificent Georgian style chandelier, making an ideal spot for arrival drinks or a canapé reception.

LOCATION
The Chester Grosvenor is located in the heart of historic Chester and overlooks the famous Eastgate Clock, said to be the most photographed clock in England after Big Ben. The hotel is just a short walk away from Chester Racecourse, Chester Cathedral, the famous Roman Amphitheatre and Storyhouse, Chester’s theatre, cinema, library and arts centre.
Wherever you are travelling from, The Chester Grosvenor is easily reached. Just 40 minutes by road from Manchester International Airport or Liverpool John Lennon Airport, less than two hours from London by train and just two miles from M53, which links to M56 and M6.
