Ready?

I will give you three ideas.

You put these ideas together.

Then you add something new that can be a benefit to many people.

Here’s a clearly stated idea

I will submit a proposal to connect all AiU buildings with walkways so that students, faculty, and staff are protected from sickness caused by rain or sun. Solar panel roofs and benches allow anyone to sit anywhere and plug in laptops or phones any time.

1. In what way is this a green idea?2. How does it relate to my major

course?3. Can I complete the poster, slides, and

the paper in three weeks?4. Will this use little or zero money?5. Can this be done by less than 3

persons?6. How does this benefit my home

country or community?7. What strong, real need does it

answer?8. What’s original about it? What’s not

original?

Electricity from the sun does not pollute the environment.

IT: Use of posters to increase information access. Business: University savings in downtime and medical expenses: @4.3 million $MYR per annum Yes.

Yes, the proposal will cost nothing.

Yes, I can do this alone.

If I don’t get sick, during my studies at AIU, then I can

learn better and serve my community better The health of AiU students, staff, and teachers is very important

Not original: Solar panels and sickness caused by sun & rain. Original: walkways connecting all AiU building.

This is how to support a project idea

These is your guide to proposing your idea in a way that it can be accepted.

Possible Ideas

1. Are there traditional ways of using solar energy in your country without technology?

2. Can you think of ways that a fabric solar energy collector might be used?

3. Can that be a project proposal?

STUDY GUIDE

• Did your brain come up with something you might propose as a project?

• If not, go to the next set.

Note: Prepare pen and paper. Open your mind to any idea that might come.
