The IED Threat Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) are a worldwide threat that has caused an increasing number of casualties, with a strategic impact on decision makers.
Since the IED is a low-cost, yet lethal weapon (causing casualties and demoralizing troops and civilians), its use poses a significant challenge to security forces, law-enforcement personnel and first responders dealing with insurgents, terrorists and criminal groups.
The Solution To effectively counter the IED threat, Rafael has developed the EZ-K9e IED Detection System in a compact, light-weight package which can easily be adapted to various configurations to suit the demands of the operational environment. EZ-K9e is a product of Rafael’s expertise and extensive research &
development efforts in the domain of Counter IED’s. This has resulted in a range of IED detection and neutralization products to support EOD teams or other forces, and to provide freedom of operation with enhance survivability. The IED detection is based on a microwave effector that enables non-line-of-sight detection and localization from a standoff distance. The detection system has been mounted on a variety of Man Transportable Robotic Systems.
In addition, the system can be installed as an add-on package on other types of combat-engineering platforms. For dismounted forces, the same detection system is available in a man-portable configuration.

EZ-K9e General Description
