Summary

This is about a boy named Greyling. He was a baby selchie. The fisherman and his wife wanted a child. The fisherman brought home a baby seal. But when his wife looked at the seal it was a baby boy. He couldn’t understand. Then he said “It is a selchie.” So… they took him as their own and didn’t let him in the sea. He grew up to be the fisherman's son. He mended nets, catched fish, but was not able to go to sea.

Summary

Then one day the sky turned as black as ever. Greyling's father was out on the sea fishing when the storm hit. The sea became rough, even the fish had a hard time swimming.

Greyling saw his father fall into the water, so he jumped into the sea to save his father. Then he turned into a grey seal and swam his father back to land. But he didn't go away forever.

Greyling came back and told his mother and father all about the lands far away. All about their songs, houses, and the fish there.

Favorite part

My favorite part was when Greyling saved his father from a bad storm.

I liked it because he was very brave to jump into the sea during a bad storm.
