First challenges in the USA for Maxime Desprey His start in the AMA SX 250 West Coast Championship was Maxime Desprey’s first appearance in the new 2016 season. On the Angel Stadium track of Anaheim in California, the French rider faced the world’s best supercross riders in the country where this discipline is king. The 18-year-old discovered a new environment, had to adapt to new tracks and find his place among the ultra-powerful riders. The set-up of the first race didn’t leave him any time to recover between training and jogging. “Maxime performed well at his debut gaining 20th place at Anaheim despite the high pressure. The objective was to improve in each race and finish as close as possible to the best competi-tors”, explained his team manager.

Despite gusts of wind and rising tides, the spectators had come to admire and applaud

the feats of these sand race professionals.

New adventures with the famous explorer Dan Přibáň

In 2015, FUCHS OIL CORP. (CZ) SPOL. S.R.O. decided to support the expedition of the well-known and popular Czech journalist, traveller and film director Dan Přibáň once again with their products. “Over several years, we have helped him during his trips to Middle Asia (2007), Africa (2010) and South America (2014). This time, Dan Přibáň organized a six-month trip to the Pacific and had to overcome very difficult obstacles during the 15,291 km of his journey”, ex-plained Pavel Broz, FUCHS Application Engineer. The team consisted of nine members (seven men and two women), two of whom were immobile in wheelchairs. This adventure started in Perth (Australia) and continued through East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. During this unique journey, they showed how to travel in an uncon-ventional way. Usually they travelled in very old small cars – two yellow Trabants 601 S Universal from the former GDR. But for this trip, this ‘fleet’ was completed by a Fiat 126 P (“Maluch”) made in Poland and old Czech motorcycles – Jawa 250 and ČZ 175. Despite some mechanical problems with the vehicles, the expedition was suc-cessful. A feature film about the expedition of this famous explorer will be premiered in the cinemas in March 2016. Trabant 601S Universal – two-cylinder two-stroke engine, 600cc, 26 hp, top speed 105 km/h Fiat 126 P – two-cylinder four-stroke engine, 650cc, 23 hp, top speed 100 km/h Jawa 250 – single-cylinder two-stroke engine, 250cc, 14 hp, top speed 110 km/h ČZ 175 – single-cylinder two-stroke engine, 175cc, 10 hp, top speed 100 km/h
