To the crazy ones

Finally it happened in a foreign land ... I watched a Brazilian movie in a classroom. I am sure I

will look at the classroom very differently. :):) well this too is part of the learning. It was a real life

story of two of Brazil's greatest country singers - Zeze Di Camargo and Luciano and how theybecame what they became. Their records have sold more than 20 million copies and apparently

their concerts happen only in a stadium.

And to think they are the product of a crazy father's dream ... Their father a poor farmer dreams

that he will have two sons whose songs will play on the radio and all that he goes through to

make it happen. This true story also brings The Secret alive - the universe does conspire to

bring you what you desire deeply. This one movie told us a lot more about Brazilian culture than

any number of classroom sessions. Clara had said yesterday that there are many similarities

between India and Brazil and today I realise how true she was...

The movie reminded me of the tennis greats - Serena and Venus Williams. A very similar story

in a very western setting. Then it reminded me of Illayaraja and that their family lost a brother

due to hunger and poverty - but the great man did make it finally.

Steve Jobs was so right as he said the following -

Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the

square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote

them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore thembecause they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see

them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that

they can change the world, are the ones who do.

Steve Jobs

US computer engineer & industrialist (1955 - 2011)

To the crazy ones out there .. Go on, think of changing the world because the sane ones will

keep it just the way it is !!
