ENGINEERED SYSTEM

Engineered from carbon fi ber, the 50 lb. (23 kg) Carbon XL 10 system can be hand-carried to any location to provide the camera motion capability of several hundred pounds of conventional camera support.

Sixty feet of carbon fi ber tubes, weighing only 16 lb. (7 kg) nest in a single 36 in. (90 cm) tripod case, and assemble into an 18.5 ft. (5.6 m) crane with Servo Pan/Tilt.

Assemble the CXL 10 carbon fi ber components into a motorized time-lapse track.

The camera crane can be shortened in 30 in. (75 cm) steps, and also used as a jib with zero gravity head, (no fl uid head required).

SHOOT CONTROLS?Aim and Shoot camera control is a unique method for controlling the camera pan and tilt when the camera is located remotely on the end of the crane arm. Steer the Aim and Shoot pan-tilt using a tripod control arm, just as you do with the camera on a tripod.

Zero-Gravity heads can improve your Jib shots

Move to the front of the remote operated camera crane and immediately switch to a front operated jib with a balanced zero-gravity head. You do not need to install a fl uid head to con-tinue shooting.

If a zero-gravity head is properly balanced, you can pan and tilt the camera, and release it without kick back at the end of your move.

Less eff ort is required and you can move the jib, and pan-tilt the camera, with only one hand.

Lower inertia and no drag permit you to move and stop the camera rapidly, and with less eff ort.

A ZERO-GRAVITY HEAD IS STANDARD ON THE CARBON XL SYSTEM

If most cranes and jibs are balanced horizontally, the crane will be unbalanced at other angles, and the crane must have a drag brake to maintain tilt position. The problem is not workmanship, it is due to physics.

If a camera crane or jib has a parallelogram linkage on the camera end, with the camera on a cantilevered platform, the crane cannot be balanced at all angles without a parallelogram weight platform on the balance weight end as well.

Think about it. When the camera crane swings upward, the parallelogram arm leverage distance shortens with tilt angle at both ends. The problem is that the camera extends out from the parallelogram linkage, and this distance does not change with tilt angle.

The second part of the solution for All Angle Balance is that the balance weights must be concen-trated at distance from the parallelogram pivot that is proportional to the camera off set on the front platform.

Carbon XL Systems achieve All Angle Balance with a pivoting rear weight bar on a parallelogram link. The bar mount adjusts through the weight off set range required for all possible front/rear arm length ratios.

CXL Floor Track SystemWith Dolly

The optional Floor Track System adds fl oor track dolly motion to the jib crane tripod. You can move camera on the jib back and forth 10 feet (3-m) and extend out 8 feet (2.4-m) in any direction.

Just hold the camera on the front-operated jib and slide the system back and forth, up and down, and side to side in a 26 foot by 16 foot (5-m x 8-m) space all by yourself. When you release the camera, it stays in place with zero gravity balance.

The kit adds only 8 pounds (3.6-kg) and it all fi ts in the existing system bags.

The double articulated dollies will also run on any straight or curved fl oor track tube diameter from .75 to 2.0 inch (19-50mm).

CXL TR1 Camera TrackWith Dolly

The Camera Dolly Track is included in System 10 and an option with System 6 and System 8. Up to 20-ft (3-m) of camera track can be supported with 2 tripods. Add more camera track as required. Use with cameras to 35-lb (16-kg).

A time lapse motor drive and can be set up for top mount or under slung shooting. Shoot with one camera on a 12-ft (3.5-m) track dolly and simultaneously with a second camera on the 8.5-ft (2.6-m) jib/crane. The Carbon XL system has the parts to allow two cameras to shoot in motion at the same time!

A standalone track dolly system is also available with 16 dolly wheels, leveling ball head, 10-ft (3-m) of carbon fi ber track and motorized time-lapse.
