The above costs should be used as a guide only. Costs are based on show averages based on price per sq. meter using 2012 – 2013 prices, excluding VAT and other additional costs. When considering the costs for taking part in an exhibition check the information provided by the event organisers in detail; the following provides a list of some of the areas you may wish to consider:

• Check whether the show has minimum and maximum stand sizes. (A show may provide costs per sq. meter, for example £150, and have a minimum stand size of 10 sq. meter resulting in a minimum participation cost of £1,500 + VAT.)

• Check whether the show’s costs are based on space or shell schemes and, if a shell scheme, what is included in the package.

• Check application or registration fees; catalogue entry and other marketing costs; environmental protection charge and Public Liability Insurance cover charges.

• Check for first time exhibitor; new or established business; demonstrations or rebooking price reductions that may apply.

• Check for reductions if booking over a number of meters. • Check whether stand sizes and costs are given per meter or feet (US). • If exhibition overseas confirm the % of VAT charged.

Solutions; Ambiente spotlights functional innovations by exhibitors – and gives products distinguished by clever solutions for everyday problems in the kitchen and household a significant boost. Talents: A promotional programme that has been supporting young international designers since 2001. Messe Frankfurt provides free exhibition stands for young designers at the beginning of their career (see the website for details).

Next: A promotional programme for young entrepreneurs - for companies with products relevant to Loft (Interior Design) and Carat (Jewellery). Applications are invited from young companies with a design background, which have already been able to gather initial business experience and want to carve out a place for themselves in the consumer-goods sector.

Design Plus: Each year, exhibitors at Ambiente can enter products in the competition that have an outstanding design and have not been on the market for more than two years. A jury of international design experts then reviews the entries and awards the DESIGN PLUS distinction to the very best.

Visitor Numbers Over 144,000 buyers from over 150 countries - the world’s biggest trade-fair for the consumer-goods sector. Approximately 77,500 of visitors from Germany. One in two of the buyers are from outside Germany making the level of internationality about 46 percent. After Germany, the top five visitor nations are Italy, The Netherlands, France, the USA and Switzerland.
