Well the weather has been lovely of late lets hope this is a sign of a hot summer to follow.Politicians throughout the country are really hotting up their charm offensive and unfortunately quite often it is offensive! They talk down to the electorate andthen squabble, rather than debate in front of us, emphasising what we already know, that the rowdy behaviour we hear when listening to parliament is not unusual, but I do believe we should all vote. Many have made great sacrifices for us to have the vote and it is something we should remember even if they are all much of a muchness, we must think, and then vote. There will be full details of all the North Norfolk District candidates in our next edition out on May 1st, which will include a statement and photo of the local budding councillors please take the time to read, think and vote.On a lighter note the fabulous Folkon the Pier returns to Cromer on May 8th until May 10th and full details of all the Fringe Events taking place in Cromer will be featutred in our next edition. Here in Trimingham we have hada successful first yard sale of the year, thank you all who came to support us resulting in 250 towards our new hall fund.

On the 19th April we have Songs of Praise in our church which will be accompanied by Seaside Harmonies and a welcome return of the Dereham Ladies Handbell ringers with their beautiful sound. All are welcome from 4pm singing from 4.30. I advise not sitting near me - loud voice but not too tuneful!

Over the last weekend of April, and again in the church, an Art Exhibition of local artists, there is Free Entry & Free Parking and all are very welcome See our Special Events Pages for details.

Dear Editor, We sent 247 to Traidcrafts Fair NecessitiesAppeal, after Barbaras Big Birthday Brew. During this Coffee Morning and from January to the end of March, 25 more Fairtrade Stalls were held in North Norfolk. The profits from these stalls, plus donations amounted to 400which has also been sent to the Appeal. Donations received by April 3rd were doubled by the UK, so more smallholder farmers in dev-eloping countries will be helped by Traidcraft projects to improve their yields and invest in new projects.Thank you very much to all the people in Sheringham, West Runton, Gresham, Cromer and Overstrand who helped and supported these stalls. Yours Sincerely,Brenda Smith, Fairtrade for Sheringham Steering Group.

Dear Editor,I write with an appeal to all local shop owners - lets get a bit continental! For many the long winter months are a case of treading water until the holiday season begins and the opportunity to make some decent profit arrives. And what do we see - come 5 oclock its closingtime as usual. So what do our holiday makersdo - retreat either to the pub or back to their lodgings leaving the town centre deserted. Many of our visitors would love the opportunityfor a bit of a promenade and a browse around the shops once dinner is out of the way, you only need look at the arcades to see what numbers an open business can attract. They have money in their pockets and time on their hands - lets give them something to do.I know some of the chain stores may not be toointerested but come on all you local shop keepers, dont you want the chance to take some extra money in what is an all too short season. Sure you will need to work a bit more or hire a worker or two (close for an hours dinner break if you need to) but I am positive that the benefits would far out weigh the costs. Theres always January and February for catching up on sleep!

Our town would feel that much more alive, our visitors would appreciate the chance to shop and stores and staff would feel the benefit.Yours Sincerely,Michael Fuhri

Dear Liz,On behalf of the Gimingham Village Hall Committee, I would like to thank Gill and Roger Burford for writing, directing and leading the production of the pantomime Cinderella on a Shoestring held at Gimingham Village Hall on 26th, 27th and 28th March.I would also like thank the production team, the cast and all the behind the scenes volunteers who put in so much time, effort and energy to ensure such a professional and fun production went ahead over the three days. Also a big thank you to the wonderful supportiveaudiences on each of the three evenings who expressed their enjoyment and helped raise a total of 850 for the village hall funds. The Quiz Night and Fish & Chip Supper on 21stMarch was very successful in raising 190 withteams exercising their grey cells solving questionscompiled by Chris Taylor and enjoying fish &chips supplied by Roughton Fish Shop.I would also like to mention that we are holdinga coffee morning on Saturday 18th April from 10-12, to raise funds for the Cromer Hospital Dialysis Patient Fund and a May Fayre on Monday 4th May 1.30-4pm. Dear Editor,For a couple of years, my wife & I ran a tabletop/craft sale at the St. John Hall in Cromer. This has been so popular that we have re-located to the Parish Hall in Church St. Cromer. The next one is on Sat April 25th. 10am - 4pm. Stalls offer hand-made jewellery,CDs, videos, crocheted & embroidered cushions, home made cakes & fudge made here in Cromer! Admission is free but our Dedicated Charity for this year is the North Norfolk branch of the M.S. Society. There will be a collection box in the hall and we hope that people will be generous in their donations.

Dear Editor, On behalf of the Aylsham Community First Responders, I would like to thank Anna and Glyn Osgathorpe of Erpingham for their very kind donation. Anna and Glyn have for many years compiled several quizzes each year which are sold in localoutlets, the proceeds (apart from a 20 prize to the winner) of which they donate to a charity. Decembers quiz proceeds were donated to ourgroup. This raised the wonderful sum of 463. In addition to this, the winner of the quiz, Christine Burns donated her 20 prize, making us 483 better off! A heartfelt thank you to her as well. Our thanks of course go to all the purchasers of the quiz andthe local shops and cafs etc who agreed to offer them for sale.

Rest assured the money raised will be well spenton the replacement of equipment, uniform andtelephone services. We take nothing for ourselvesnot even our petrol costs.Andrew Hartshorne, Co-ordinator Aylsham Community First Responders. The photo above is of Glyn presenting me with the cheque.

Refreshments will be available, with tea and coffee at 50p a cup & Bovril at 1 for a mug.We look forward to greeting friends-old and new to this Feel-good event.Regards to all, Tony & Sue.

Dear Editor,The results of Have your say on North Lodge Park are coming in and a picture is beginning to emerge of what people would like to see.The survey of Cromer residents and visitors, launched on 4th March, closes on 20th April.Over 400 responses have already been received, but the Friends of North Lodge Park are urging everyone in Cromer to have their say on the future of North Lodge Park. While the age profile of the respondents reflects the area, with more responses from people over40, the Friends would like to see a greater response from younger people. The most supported areas for improvement are the caf, childrens play area, better planting, & putting and the former tennis courts/tarmac area is an improvement priority. Dedicated areas, special events and activities have also received a positive response from the majority of respondents. The North Lodge Park questionnaire can be completed online at: northlodgepark.org.ukPaper copies from Budgens in Cromer.

Dear Liz,As seasonal visitors to Mundesley we try and keep abreast of happenings within the area by reading the North Norfolk News and the Crab Tales when possible. It was good to read in the Crab Tales that the Cromer Skate Park is now under construction. When Mundesley Skate Park opened I rememberwatching the young people enjoying themselves, the mix of ages and abilities was staggering. It was good to see the older, abler skaters giving the little ones space to have fun too. At the time I was saddened that Cromer was lagging behind with their hopes of a Skate Park of their own. Now it is in sight - well done to all those whose hard work and fund raising has brought it to fruition.I too looked at the construction sight in Cromer and felt that all the fuss regarding detriment to theMeadow had been blown out of all proportion. Had John Crump taken the trouble to view the plans he might have been saved his concerns. If he were alive today he would not be able to turn in his grave! Wherever he is now perhaps he will have had a change of heart and realise that the young people will soon be able to have fun without any discomfort to the other users of the Meadow which, after all, is supposed to be a community facility for all the people of Cromer to enjoy.Best WishesMaureen JohnsonWare, Hertfordshire

The CandidatesFor the North Norfolk ConstituencyThe poll for the election of a Member of Parliament for North Norfolk will be held on Thursday 7th May 2015, between the hours of 7am and 10pm.There are five candidates for this election. You will only be allowed to vote for one of them, if you place a mark against more than one your vote will be invalid.Pictured Below are the five candidates as they will appear on the ballot form i.e: in alphabetical order.

North Norfolk Labours 1964 Election WinTapes about the life of a former North Norfolk MP have been digitalised and archivist, DavidRussell, has listened to more than 11 hours of recordings from the former Labour MP Bert Hazell in the run-up to the General Election. Mr Hazell, who was born in Attleborough, was a passionate Labour activist in Norfolk for manyyears before becoming their election candidate for the 1964 election after the death of the Labour MP Edwin Gooch. In the tapes Mr Hazell recalls the tough fight to become the MP against the Tory candidate for the area. Labour had won with a small majority in the previous 1959 election. In the past years, farm workers and those associated with the agricultural industry formed a large percentage of the overall number of constituents. But all of that was changing, he said.Mr Hazell, who passed away in 2009 aged 101, went on to win the 1964 election with a majority of just 53. He recalls the day of the count. He said that his...... opponent, quite naturally, demanded a recount. But the recount produced exactly the same figures and I wondered whetherhe might call again because the majority was so narrow. But he came across to me and said thats it Mr Hazell, I accept defeat and wish you well as the new Member of Parliament for North Norfolk.

Some of the tapes have been made available onthe North Norfolk Labour Party website at www.norfolklabour.co.uk, while others have been stored at the Norfolk Record Office. They feature recollections of Mr Hazells early days as an MP including his Maiden Speech. Its a nerve-racking experience but I had pre-pared myself. One cannot read from speeches, one can only refer to notes, although I think in the course of debates there were occasions when it comes very close to reading ones contribution. But I was nervous and I had no intention at that stage of attempting to violate any rules.

He talked about the lack of better public transport in North Norfolk, and the fact that there was only one train line through the constituency, leaving some locals virtually isolated.

Pictured Above: Bert Hazell with Labour Party supporters outside Cromer Secondary School

the day after his 1964 election win. He said: All of the other lines had been closed and this created a good deal of economic hardship for those living along the coast. It was in 1966 that Mr Hazell went on to win a much stronger majority of 737 votes before losing the seat to Ralph Howell in 1970. David Russell said: These frank recordings fromMr Hazell, along with a number of his papers & documents, provide an insight into the life of a humble farm worker from Norfolk who went on to become president of the National Union of Agricultural & Allied Workers, chairman of York Health Authority, magistrate, and a Labour MP for North Norfolk.

A Great New Bit Of Kit.Now, after the owner of the Norfolk Cleaning Group, Peter Murcher, has got himself this wonderful machine, they can steam clean almost anything whatever the distance the machinery is parked off site.

In fact the length of the Cromer Pier, so that they can clean the whole theatre at the end of the Pier from the car park.Run from a Nissan van, the machinery operates off its own engine (2 times larger than a Morris1000 engine) with its own water tank and waste tank via over 400 ft of high pressure hose, that can steam clean whatever kind of surface that needs cleaning.

This is indeed a company that is doing a great deal of work cleaning anything in Norfolk andthe expansion of this Nth Walsham company will, by the middle of this summer, be employing over 70 local folk.Because the machine is mounted in the van it heats the water up to 230 degrees so that it really does do the business of getting everything clean and tidy.

Because of the power of the suction involved the carpet dries off very quickly so that it canbe used within about 20 minutes afterwards. It really is a great bit of kit for getting the job, wherever it may be, done properly.I take my hat off to Peter, as someone who re-invests into his business and now seems to be cleaning everywhere in Norfolk.

North Walsham Lunch Club About With Friends North Walsham Lunch Club has just celebrated its third anniversary. The lunch at North Walsham Community Centretakes place every Wednesday from 11.30am - 2pm & provides a hot meal and entertainment for Over 60s from the area.

Everything is done by members of About With Friends supported by staff and volunteers. The members of the charity all have a learning disability and are on the Workskills programme which aims to give them real work experience and a sense of purpose. The charity started a catering team several yearsago and they started providing lunches for the residents of Victory Housing properties. They then launched weekly lunches at Cromeron Mondays & Nth Walsham on Wednesdays. The lunches offer an excellent opportunity forpeople of different age groups & backgrounds to get to know each other and are invaluable to the lunch guests, many of whom live alone and are isolated.Joan Dodimead & Shirley Knightsbridge have been coming from the beginning and say it is something they look forward to all week. There are about 16 guests each week and as manylive alone they enjoy having someone else to cook for them and to do the washing up.A hot 2 course lunch plus hot drinks costs just 6 and transport can also be arranged for a small cost (Typically 1.00-2.00). Although the lunch clubs are already popular there is always room for more guests. If you are interested in trying them out please call Jenny on: 01263 515230

The RAF Sea King then landed on the cliff-topat Mundesley inside a safe cordon set up by HM Coastguards, they then shut down and joined rescue teams for refreshments and cake, presented to the helicopter crew from Mundesley Lifeboat.

29th March 2015A final farewell to RAF Sea KingThe RAF Sea King helicopters are being replaced by HM Coastguard helicopters. Lifeboats along the Norfolk Coast trained with the new helicopter.

To follow this training Mundesley Lifeboat, alongside HM Coastguards from Happisburgh and Mundesley, had our final training session with the RAF Sea King 125 helicopter from Wattisham in Suffolk.

Intense training included static and running winches with the lifeboat, also lifeboat crew being recovered from the water. This helps the crew to reassure casualties in the event of an airlift, in understanding what to expect. It was an emotional farewell to the RAF

Book ChoiceFor Love of a RoseBy Antonia Ridge

This is one of my favourite books, long out of print but widely available second hand, my ownpaperback copy is now very battered having been lent to numerous friends over the years and all of them have loved it.

For Love of a Rose is the true story about thefamous roses Peace & Baccara and of the Meillands and the Paolinos, who raised them. Antonia Ridge gives a fascinating picture of theearly lives of Papa Meilland and Francesco Paolino, portraying wonderfully the indomitable Grandmere Jenny and the resourceful Mamma Paolino and movingly recreates the setbacks and triumphs of the long painstakingeffort to develop new roses. The story tells of the marriage that united the two families, and how the small stock of Peace was saved from destruction in the Second World War.More About the MeillandsAntoine Meilland, survived service in World War I, and saw his first post-war rose crop wiped out by a beetle infestation. He recovered and eventually made his nursery the dominant force in the French rose growing business. In 1932, he signed a contract with a nursery in Pennsylvania to market Meilland-bred roses in America. Antoines son, Francis (1912-1958) was anothervisionary who established a reputation for hisbreeding and built the business into a worldwideoperation with a network of agents who simultaneously introduced his varieties. For what he called a Universal Rose Selectionhe prepared coloured catalogs designed so that each agent could insert their own text. Having arranged the smuggling of a seedling outof France just prior to the German occupation inWorld War II, in 1945 Francis introduced one of the most famous of all roses, Peace.Who was Antonia Ridge?Dutch-born Antonia Ridge (1895 1981) was a broadcaster associated with Childrens Hour for which she wrote and read childrens plays. She was also a librettist, translating childrens songs of Friedrich-Wilhelm Mller (The Happy Wanderer, The Wooden Horse, The Emperor and the Nightingale). She wrote many childrens books which includedcollections of short stories such as The Handy Elephant (1946) & Rom Bom Bom (1963)and scripted and read plays for BBC Radios Childrens Hour and appeared as a castaway on the BBC Radio programme Desert Island Discs on 25th January 1960.Do you have a favourite book that you would like to share with Crab Tales readers? Already Out & About On The Campaign TrailOn Saturday April 4th, it was good to see this years Election campaign already up and running smoothly in North Walsham. From 10 in the morning until just before noon Denise Burke, the Labour Party parliamentary candidate for North Norfolk, joined by the MEP Richard Howitt and a team of jolly supporters were out next to the Town Clock, handing out leaflets and chatting to the numerous Saturday morning shoppers.Having been a supporter and in Lincolnshire in the 1990s a District & County councillor for two termsas a Labour councillor, I have a great deal of time and respect for Denise Burke.I would suggest to everyone to think hard and take on board what each of the candidates are promising you before you put the X in the box. PK Pictured Left-Right : David Spencer, Denise Burke, Richard Howitt (MEP), Joyce Carless & Stephen Burke.

There Was This... ........loving grandfather who always made aspecial effort to spend time with his sons family on weekends. Every Saturday morning he would take his 5 yearold granddaughter out for a drive in the car forsome quality time -- pancakes, ice cream, candy -- just him and his granddaughter. One particular Saturday, however, he had a terrible cold and could not get out of bed. He knew his granddaughter always looked forward to their drives and would be very disappointed.Luckily, his wife came to the rescue and said that she would take their granddaughter for her weekly drive and breakfast. When they returned, the little girl anxiously ran upstairs to see her grandpa who was still in bed.Well, did you enjoy your ride with grandma? he asked. Not really, PaPa, it was boring. We didnt see a single asshole, queer, piece of shit, horses ass, tree hugger, socialist left wing prick, blind bastard, dipstick or son of a bitch anywhere we went!We just drove around and Grandma smiled at everyone she saw. I really didnt have any fun.

Almost brings a tear to your eye, doesnt it?

Thanks to David Thorne for this.

A Trail For All Seasons Photo CompetitionAfter the success of last years Norfolk Trails photo competition, the County Council has launched another competition for budding photographers in the county. The Trail For All Seasons photo competition, launched before the Easter holidays, will run right through to November 1st.It is hoped that the competition will attract evenmore people to use the Norfolk Trails throughoutthe year, capturing different seasonal imagesalong the routes as they go. Managed by NCC, the Norfolk Trails network brings together over 1,200 miles of circular, long & short walks, cycle and bridle routes throughout Norfolk.Extending from the coastline of north Norfolk, tothe vast Breckland forests in the south & west, tothe Norfolk Broads in the east, the Trails providethe opportunity to discover a diverse, picturesquelandscape of unique market towns, rich wildlife and fascinating heritage.Brian Hannah, NCC Chairman, said:The entries received for our last competition really captured the beauty of the county on the Norfolk Trails and Im sure we will see some great images submitted this time also particularly as the competition runs for a time period that allows photos to be taken throughout the seasons. The Norfolk trails network is a wonderful resource that residents of this county should be hugely proud of. I encourage as many people as possible to get out and about on the trails and take some photographs as they go.After the competition closes a number of the photos will be selected by a panel of judges before going to a public vote to decide a top 3.1st place will win a 100 Cotswold voucher, 2nd a 50 Cotswold voucher, and 3rd a 25 Cotswold voucher. 2 Elderly Women........were out driving in a large car - both could barely see over the dashboard. As they were cruising along, they came to major crossroad. The stop light was red, but they just went on through. The woman in the passenger seat thought to herself : I must be losing it. I could have sworn we just went through a red light. After a few more minutes, they came to anothermajor junction and the light was red again. Again, they went right through. The woman inthe passenger seat was almost sure that the lighthad been red but was really concerned that she was losing it. She was getting nervous. At the next junction, sure enough, the light was red and they went on through. So, she turned to the other woman and said: Mildred, did you know that we just ran through three red lights in a row? You could have killed us both!

Mildred turned to her and said:

    Oh! Am I driving?

The Advantages Of A Dispensing Review Of Use Of Medicines A dispensing review of use of medicines (DRUM) is carried out by a qualified dispenser within the practice. Here at Mundesley Medical Centre, we offer this service to dispensing patients (those who live a mile or more away from a chemist). This gives the opportunity for a dispenser to discuss on a one to one basis with a patient about their medicines. It is not the same as a GPs medication review and is solely to do with medicines. The review is to assess how patients take their prescribed medicines. It gives the dispenser achance to have a consultation to see if the patient is taking it the way the GP has recommended; for example at the correct times, dose and sometimes the correct day. It also gives the opportunity to discuss with the patient if they understand why they are taking themedication. The dispenser can discuss with the patient common side effects and whether any-thing can be altered to help minimise these and may refer to the relevant clinician for advice. The dispenser can also ensure that the patient is not having problems accessing their medicines, such as getting certain tablets out of the packag-ing as they are fiddly or for example the patientmay have arthritic thumbs which makes opening lids or packets difficult.

Sometimes patients struggle with remembering to take their tablets and if they comply with theDisability Discrimination Act then these can beput in to dossette boxes if necessary. A dossette box is a sealed tray with small holes, into which tablets are placed by the dispenser. The slots are labelled with the days of the week& morning, lunch, teatime & bedtime. Tablets are placed into the appropriate slots when the medication should be taken. Medication may also be put into clic-loc bottles. These are plastic bottles with a childproof cap.We can offer bottles with a screw top but thiswould need to be discussed with your dispensaryand you would need to sign a form to acknowledgethat the childproof lid has been removed. The patient may need a referral to social servicesfor a tick chart or an alarmed box to be issued if necessary. The dispenser can discuss over ordering and howto order the patients prescription to minimise waste. They can also set up a managed repeat if the patient wishes. A managed repeat means that each month the dispenser will issue what you need, ready for you to pick up. When you collect the medication, the dispenser will ask what you would like for the following month. This then minimises waste and also helps if you forget to order. The dispenser will discuss safe disposal of unused medication that you can bring back to the Doctors for safe disposal or take to your local chemist. This service is available at Mundesley Medical Centre for our dispensing patients only. Please check with your own surgery or pharmacist to see what services they offer.A DRUM also gives the dispenser the opportunityto discuss other services that they offer, such as online ordering and delivering medication to the patients home if they are eligible. These services are available to patients at the Mundesley Medical Centre, although the delivery service is only available for dispensing patients. You may need to check with your own practice or pharmacist to see what services they offer. It is also nice to be able to talk to patients in privacy in case they have any concerns about their medication and how they take it.

History Tales In this occasional column it is hopedto include all aspects of the historyof this area including events, people, buildings and the countryside. Some serious stories of wars, stormsand shipwrecks and others simply quirky and amusing.

    Local RhymesCromer crabs,Runton dabs;

    Beeston babies,Sheringham ladies;Weyborne witches,Salthouse ditches;Blakeney bulldogs,Morston dodmen,

    Binham bulls,Stiffkey trolls;

And the men of Wells,Theyre as sound as bells.

    Normal for Norfolk

The dodman mentioned above is a Norfolk name for a snail. It has been suggested that the word derives from the surname of a travelling cloth seller calledMr Dudman, who supposedly had a bent back and when he walked along carrying a large roll of cloth he was thought to resemble a snail.

Travellers TalesBack in 1879 the famous antiquarianWalter Rye travelled around NorthNorfolk. This was before the rail-way got to Sheringham or Holt. Upper Sheringham was the villageand lower Sheringham still a smallfishing community, with a lifeboat but no church. Rye took the train from Norwich to Cromer and described his journey: Norwich to Cromer by rail one hour, fares 4 shillings 1st class, two andninepence 2nd, 2 shillings 3rd. During the season there are excur-sions at much lower prices. Cromer station, 24 miles from Norwich, is perhaps as picturesquely situated as any in England.

Crime and PunishmentIn April 1801 the Norfolk Chroniclereported that John Allen (23) andJohn Day (26), for burglary at thehouse of the Reverend Isaac Hooley,at Nth Walsham; Richard Grafton, for stealing a cow & three heifers and James Chettleborough (36) for stealing sheep at Saxlingham, were executed at Thetford. In April 1815 A person in the country has lately been convicted before Mr Crowe, Mr Astley and Mr Norris in the legal penalty forworking & digging in his garden and openly profaning the Sabbath. It is to be hoped that his example willoperate towards the discontinuance of the practice, which, perhaps, is nowhere so prevalent as in this county.

    Bob Wilkinson.

Saturday 2nd May Cookery demonstrations are making a return to Aylsham Market Place this summer!

Such was the success of last years events, whentop local chefs showed off their skills, that the Town Council has asked the Cittaslow committee and Slow Food Aylsham for a repeat series. From May, the demonstrations will be held the1st Saturday of the month, coinciding with the towns FARMA-accredited Farmers Market. Chefs will have a free rein to cook anything theywish but will be asked to source their main ingredients from the market or local shops. The first chef this year, Pictured Above, is local favourite Derrol Waller who always delights the crowds with his quick repartee and Tommy Cooper impressions! The demonstration begins at 9am on May 2ndand its all free for the public, including no doubt, samples of Derrols creations.

Having been involved back in the good old daysin setting it all up, I am a genuine supporter of this great organisation and I would encourage anyone prepared to give them a few hours out of their week to help as a volunteer.Do give John Whitby a ring to discuss how you can help them out. Or Tel: 01263 822 347Dansmall is Dan Plews (Jon Boden, Saul Rose, Eliza Carthy, Ian Giles) & Guy Fletcher (Tickled Pink, Little

Johnny England, Albion Band, Ashley Hutchings). With two great singers, guitar, bouzouki, mandolin & fiddle, Dansmall has toured Europe & the English-speaking world

demonstrating how not to mix swing, ABBA & traditional music, and playing Dans award-winning songs - the diminutive older

brother of Dansaul, Guy & Dan have played together so often since 1994 that their communication are intuitive

and spontaneous, resulting in a vibe that is immediate and contagious.

Giggly Fiddle Magic Taplas Energy & Genius Oxford Mail Up with Carthy Folk The Roots

From 1pm at The White Horse in CromerAs part of the Folk on the Pier Fringe, Isolde, folk-electronica artist will sculpt her songs with stories of everyday, harmonies, uke, guitar, found sounds and her loop station.Julia Turner, a Jazz-loving songstress, who spins romantic stories of Oz and beyond with intricate vocals and deft guitar picking will be joining her.Gemma Dietrich describes Isoldes work:This talented woman behind the dreamy pop, toytronica is much more than your average singer-songwriter. Collecting and then sampling multiple sounds, Isolde is also a producer. She has been compared to Coco Rosie & Bjork for obvious reasons, but has still managed to master her own unique and abstract style.A fellow reviewer has described her sound as being luscious real world folktronica on a rowboat in a slightly misty lake. Isolde takes me on a different trip.Im sitting in a darkened Spiegeltent watching circus freaks contort and fly, expressing both the beautiful andabstract aspects of life, making me question my sanity. Isoldes Kismet single cover is a beautiful and musical stream of consciousness collaged from

every day sounds she has overheard and tinkered with.Title track Seed Bud Bloom is about the bitter sweet life of a moth & features beats made from the likes of coat hangers and burning leaves. Oh, and a wooden fish.

Kismet, the EPs leading single, is a song about being brave and embracing the unknown. This sentiment is communicated through seagulls, creaking boats & children running on the beach. Sweet Tooth, my personal favouritewhich features Oliver Clarkson on clarinet, is about cake. Inspired by a Marks and Spencers food advert, Isolde samples cheese graters, electricwhisks, sugar and eating cake. Its experimental folk at its finest.

Isolde Seed Bud Bloom EP will be available for download via Band Camp, Amazon & itunes on May 15th 2015. Single Kismet is currently availableas a free download from bandcamp.
