CPEI Credentialing / Certification Graduate Education Equivalency Worksheet Instructions: for persons desiring to have their educational experience to be evaluated the following actions must occur: (1) Complete this Educational Equivalency Worksheet, (2) Complete the Educational Equivalency Application, (3) Attach all required transcripts, certificates, etc. and (4) Submit payment. The CPEI Credentialing /Certification Graduate Equivalency Worksheet is designed to assist those who may lack the specific hours needed to compete for a specific credential in chaplaincy and/or CPE Supervision. It is expected that individuals possess a minimum of educational preparation (Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral Degree) when applying for a credential/certification; however, the equivalency worksheet can assist individuals who may or may not meet all the theological education or related coursework. NOTE: The equivalency worksheet is NOT designed to be a substitute for formal undergraduate or graduate education. A maximum of 30 Equivalency Hours may be considered from the list of equivalencies should that clearly meet the required competencies. Copies of transcripts and/or certificates must accompany the application. EDUCATION EQUIVALENCY WORKSHEET

Use the education equivalency worksheet to assist in evaluating for additional hours. A Maximum

of 30 Equivalency Hours may be considered if one already holds an accredited Bachelors, Masters,

or Doctoral Degree.

• Second CHEA undergraduate Degree for Related Subjects - A ratio of (1) Graduate Hour for

Each (2) Hour Undergraduate Course (2:1) Up to a Maximum of 15 Semester Hours

• Professional Continued Education - A ratio of 100 contact hours equates (1) semester hour

(100:1) or up to 15 semester hours.

• CPE Supervisory Education - A ratio of 100 contact hours equates (1) semester hour (100:1)

or up to 15 semester hours

• Professional Publication and Teaching - A ratio of 100 contact hours equates (1) semester

hour (100:1) or up to 15 semester hours

• Professional Experience - Only hours are accounted after the applicant has completed three

(3) years of experience. A ratio of 48 hours of experience equates (1) semester hour (48:1) or

up to 15 semester hours.
