you have had tax deductable in-come in this period. In this case a filing of your tax return in Ger-many could reduce your tax bur-den significantly.

property in the US/ in Germany?

The taxation in Germany can be different from case to

case. If you use the properties for your own purpose, there is normally no taxation issue. If properties are leased out and realizing profits then taxation can be expected.
