THE COMPANYBaron Foods Limited commenced operations in November 1991 in the Vieux Fort Industrial Estate, South of the island of St. Lucia. Our company’s primary products are condiments, sauces, spices, essences, dressings, and exotic fruit beverages. To date, our export oriented company produces a range in excess of one hundred and fifty (150) various products certified against the FSSC 22000:2010 V3 international standard across its plants in St. Lucia and Grenada. Baron Foods has recently established its third, full-fledged manufacturing facility in the island of Trinidad and Tobago as part of its expansion drive into establishing a truly Caribbean brand … owned by the Caribbean.

WHY GO GLOBAL?

The estimated population of St. Lucia is 182,973. Since the commencement of operations in 1991, Baron Foods has penetrated the St. Lucian market effectively. Hence, Baron Foods has expanded its niche market to the island of Grenada with the formation of a satellite plant, Baron Foods (Grenada) Limited. Commencing operations in 2010 the company currently manufactures the full range of 150 products at this facility. Enticed by its strong business presence in Grenada, the element of further expansion was ever present in the mind of Ramjattan. The implementation of a third plant in Trinidad & Tobago which is already in the final stages and meeting all necessary regulatory mandates, Baron Foods (T&T) Limited is poised to start operation in November, 2015.

2. EXPORT DRIVEN

Baron Foods Ltd has become a successful exporting company for a number of reasons and as such over the years we have gained competitive advantages in the foreign market places. These advantages were made possible by having a strategic export plan, which included techniques that bolstered product quality and reputation.

An estimated 45% of total production being exported to the English, French, Spanish and Dutch speaking islands of the Caribbean, Guyana, USA, Canada & Europe.

QUALITY & STANDARDSBaron Food’s products are currently certified against the internationally recognized FSSC 22000 V3 food safety standard.

This standard offers a global solution in harmonizing requirements towards safety management systems of a food supply chain with its advantage being its overall makeup of the ISO 22000, HACCP and ISO/TS 22002-1 standards. The company also practices World Class Manufacturing which has engaged the gears of production to better increase efficiency and improve productivity
