Specifications:

1. 23 84 13 – Humidifiers:

a. Modify 2.2 to read as follows:

A. Steam Header / Separator: ASTM A666, Type 304 stainless steel, with integral heat exchanger which shall provide atmospheric condensate vaporizing and pressurized condensate return.

1. All dispersion tube-generated condensate that falls to the heat exchanger in the header shall be vaporized into humidification steam.

2. As condensate is vaporized in the header, pressurized condensate created in the heat exchanger shall return to main without need for additional pumps, valves, or controls.

NOTE: Contractor’s Option to provide a humidifier which complies with this specification except for the above described condensate management. In this case, Contractor shall consult humidifier manufacturer regarding required vented condensate reservoir, and provide submittal information for the condensate reservoir for Engineer’s review.

B. Humidifier Steam Control Valve: Comply with ANSI B16.15 Class 250; equal percentage flow characteristics; brass or bronze body globe valve with stainless steel seat, stem and plug; sized to meet humidification requirements.

1. Actuator: Electric modulating with spring return; normally closed. 2. Actuator: As specified in Division 23 Section “Control Systems.”

C. Heat Exchanger Control Valve: Two-position, normally closed, solenoid operated, on-off steam valve. Valve shall respond to a signal from a humidistat via 24 VAC signal.

b. Remove 2.3 A Vapor Hose Kit in its entirety.

c. Add 2.3 A.1 to read: Humidifier panel assembly shall be contained within a Type 304 stainless steel metal casing to allow convenient mounting in air handler casings.

d. Modify 2.3 A.5 to read: Steam shall discharged in diametrically opposite directions, perpendicular to airflow, and shall be absorbed into the airstream such that no moisture accumulates on interior air handling unit surfaces more than 12 inches beyond the centerline of the steam dispersion grid at 500 fpm face velocity. The dispersion tube quantity and spacing, and vapor outlet ports quantity and spacing, shall be factory-engineered to meet this absorption requirement.

e. Modify 2.4 Accessory Hardware to read:

A. Steam Trap: Humidifier shall be provided with one float/thermostatic type trap

complying with Division 23 Section “Steam and Condensate Piping.”

B. Inlet Strainer: Humidifier shall be provided with one inlet strainer complying with Division 23 Section “Steam and Condensate Piping.”

f. Add 3.2 A to read: Humidifier shall be factory installed within air handling unit by air

handling unit manufacturer.

Prices shall cover all expenses, including taxes not covered by the University of Missouri’s tax exemption status, incurred in performing work required under Contract documents, of which this Bid is a part.

3. BID PRICING

a. Base Bid: The Bidder agrees to furnish all labor, materials, tools, and equipment required to remove an existing air handling unit and associated ductwork, piping, conduits, controls, and auxiliary electrical equipment and install a new air handling unit and associated ductwork, piping, conduits, controls, and auxiliary electrical equipment, including the installation of new chilled water and heating hot water piping and conversion of the 5th floor north wing from constant volume dual duct to variable volume with hot water reheat; all as indicated on the Drawings and described in these Specifications for sum of:

4. PROJECT COMPLETION

a. Contract Period - Contract period begins on the day the Contractor receives unsigned Contract, Performance Bond, Payment Bond, and "Instructions for Execution of Contract, Bonds, and Insurance Certificates." Bidder agrees to complete project within one hundred and fifty (150) calendar days from receipt of aforementioned documents. Fifteen (15) calendar days have been allocated in construction schedule for receiving aforementioned documents from Bidder.

b. Commencement - Contractor agrees to commence work on this project after the "Notice to Proceed" is issued by the Owner. "Notice to Proceed" will be issued within seven (7) calendar days after Owner receives properly prepared and executed Contract documents listed in paragraph 4.a. above. c. Special scheduling requirements:

1.) Work associated with demolition of existing piping and installation of new piping on first floor shall be scheduled to occur between March 4, 2017 and March 12, 2017. Scheduled outage of heating hot water and chilled water systems shall occur during this time period. See drawings MD101 and M101 for affected areas.

2.) All equipment shutdowns and scheduling of work within occupied spaces shall be scheduled with the Owner’s Representative a minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the outage.

3.) Saw-cutting, core-drilling, use of hammer drills, and installation of powder-actuated fasteners shall occur only during the following time periods to minimize disruption of adjacent work and clinical study areas: 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., or 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

4.) Prior to demolition, Contractor shall provide mobile cooling units to temporary cool select spaces. Units shall remain in place for entire AHU-11 shutdown duration. See drawing M001 for affected areas.

5.) Prior to demolition, Contractor shall coordinate with Owner’s Representative to obtain Owner-furnished window AC units salvaged from the Lathrop and Laws Demolition project to temporarily cool spaces with operable windows. Units shall remain in place for entire AHU-11 shutdown duration. See drawing M001 for affected areas.

6.) Construction schedule shall allow a minimum of two (2) weeks for system testing and balancing.

7.) Construction schedule shall allow a minimum of two (2) weeks for the Owner-provided programming and startup of Johnson Controls Metasys temperature controls system.

5. SUBCONTRACTOR LIST:

work by using Bidder's own employees, then Bidder shall list their own name, city, and state. The bidder may petition the Owner to change a listed subcontractor only within 48 hours of the bid opening. See Information For Bidders Section 16 List of Subcontractors for requirements.

6. SUPPLIER DIVERSITY PARTICIPATION GOALS

a. Bidder hereby states that amount, or amounts, set forth in bid is, or are, correct and that no mistake or error has occurred in bid or in Bidder's computations upon which this bid is based. Bidder agrees that he will make no claim for reformation, modifications, revisions or correction of bid after scheduled closing time for receipt of bids.

c. Bidder understands that Owner reserves right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding.

d. Accompanying the bid is a bid bond, or a certified check, or an irrevocable letter of credit, or a cashier's check payable without condition to "The Curators of the University of Missouri" which is an amount at least equal to five percent (5%) of amount of largest possible total bid herein submitted, including consideration of Alternates.

e. Accompanying the bid is a Bidder's Statement of Qualifications. Failure of Bidder to submit the Bidder's Statement of Qualifications with the bid may cause the bid to be rejected. Owner does not maintain Bidder's Statements of Qualifications on file.

1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS

B. 23 0100 “Basic Mechanical Requirements,” and Section 23 0500 “Basic Mechanical Materials

1.2 SUMMARY

A. This Section includes the following types of humidifiers:

1.3 SUBMITTALS

elevations, sections, details of components, manifolds, injection and dispersion elements, and

attachments to other work. Show support locations, type of support, weight on each support,

D. Operation and Maintenance Data: For humidifiers to include in operation and maintenance

manuals specified in Division 01. Include detailed manufacturer’s instructions on startup,

shutdown, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and servicing. Include parts list and list of

1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Comply with AHRI 640 Commercial and Industrial Humidifiers.

1.5 COORDINATION

A. Coordinate physical size of humidifier steam dispersion manifold with interior dimensions of

the air handling unit for uniform steam distribution. At contractor’s discretion, ship steam

dispersion grids with complete written mounting instructions to air handling unit manufacturer’s

facility for incorporation into air handling units.

1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A. Deliver, store, and handle humidifiers according to manufacturer’s recommendations.

B. Store humidifiers on elevated platforms in a dry location.

1.7 WARRANTY

A. General Warranty: Extended warranty specified in this Article shall not deprive Owner of other

rights Owner may have under other provisions of the Contract Documents and shall be in

addition to, and run concurrent with, other warranties made by Contractor under requirements

of the Contract Documents.

B. Manufacturer’s Extended Warranty: Submit written warranty, signed by manufacturer, agreeing

to repair or replace any component up to and including the entire unit, due to defects in

materials or workmanship. Warranty must include parts, labor, shipping and handling charges,

and applicable taxes; for no out-of-pocket cost to the Owner. Extended warranty period shall be

manufacturer’s standard, but not less than two years (2) after date of Substantial Completion.

2.2 DIRECT STEAM-INJECTION HUMIDIFIERS

A. Steam Header / Separator: ASTM A666, Type 304 stainless steel, with integral heat exchanger

which shall provide atmospheric condensate vaporizing and pressurized condensate return.

1. All dispersion tube-generated condensate that falls to the heat exchanger in the header

shall be vaporized into humidification steam.

2. As condensate is vaporized in the header, pressurized condensate created in the heat

exchanger shall return to main without need for additional pumps, valves, or controls.

NOTE: Contractor’s Option to provide a humidifier which complies with this specification

except for the above described condensate management. In this case, Contractor shall consult

humidifier manufacturer regarding required vented condensate reservoir, and provide submittal

information for the condensate reservoir for Engineer’s review.

B. Humidifier Steam Control Valve: Comply with ANSI B16.15 Class 250; equal percentage flow

characteristics; brass or bronze body globe valve with stainless steel seat, stem and plug; sized

to meet humidification requirements.

1. Actuator: Electric modulating with spring return; normally closed.

2. Actuator: As specified in Division 23 Section “Control Systems.”

C. Heat Exchanger Control Valve: Two-position, normally closed, solenoid operated, on-off steam

valve. Valve shall respond to a signal from a humidistat via 24 VAC signal.

2.3 STEAM-INJECTION DISPERSION MANIFOLD

A. Steam Dispersion Grid: Tube bank consisting of a header and required quantity of multiple

dispersion tubes, factory assembled in a rack sized to fit across entire cross-section of duct or

plenum and equipped with mounting hardware.

1. Humidifier panel assembly shall be contained within a Type 304 stainless steel metal

casing to allow convenient mounting in air handler casings.

2. Header shall be constructed of ASTM A666, Type 304 or 316 stainless steel and shall be

fitted with 1-inch, 1½-inch or 2-inch tee outlets for dispersion tube connections. The

header shall be baffled or otherwise internally balanced to ensure uniform steam flow to

each dispersion tube.

3. The dispersion tubes shall be constructed of ASTM A666, Type 304 or 316 stainless steel

and shall be engineered to limit airstream sensible heat gain to a maximum of 3ºF when

no humidification is required.

4. Vapor emission ports shall be sized and located along the dispersion tube for uniform

steam distribution across the grid. Dispersion tubes shall either be fully jacketed with

punched emission ports, or unjacketed with emission port sleeves extending to the center

of the dispersion tube; to minimize condensate carryover.

5. Steam shall discharged in diametrically opposite directions, perpendicular to airflow, and

shall be absorbed into the airstream such that no moisture accumulates on interior air

handling unit surfaces more than 12 inches beyond the centerline of the steam dispersion

grid at 500 fpm face velocity. The dispersion tube quantity and spacing, and vapor outlet

ports quantity and spacing, shall be factory-engineered to meet this absorption

requirement.

6. Provide 1/8-inch thick, PVDF insulation on thermal dispersion tubes and humidifier grid

header. Insulation shall have a maximum rating under UL 723 (ASTM E84) flame

spread/smoke developed of 25/50; high temperature rated for 300ºF continuous

operation; closed-cell construction that will not absorb moisture and therefore not support

microbial growth; zero particle erosion per ASTM C1071, and resistant to UV light.

2.4 ACCESSORY HARDWARE

A. Steam Trap: Humidifier shall be provided with one float/thermostatic type trap complying with

Division 23 Section “Steam and Condensate Piping.”

B. Inlet Strainer: Humidifier shall be provided with one inlet strainer complying with Division 23

Section “Steam and Condensate Piping.”

2.5 FIELD PIPING

A. As specified in Division 23 Section “Steam and Condensate Piping.”

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

A. Examine air-handling units for compliance with requirements for installation tolerances and

other conditions affecting performance.

B. Examine roughing-in for piping systems to verify actual locations of piping connections before

humidifier installation.

C. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.

3.2 INSTALLATION

A. Humidifier shall be factory installed within air handling unit by air handling unit manufacturer.

B. Install humidifiers as indicated, in accordance with manufacturer’s written instructions and

AHRI 640.

C. Install humidifiers with required clearance for service and maintenance.

D. Seal humidifier manifold duct or plenum penetrations with flange.

E. Install manifold supply piping pitched to drain condensate back to humidifier.

3.3 CONNECTIONS

A. Piping installation requirements are specified in other Division 23 Sections. Drawings indicate

general arrangement of piping, fittings, and specialties.

1. Install piping adjacent to humidifiers to allow service and maintenance.

3.4 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

A. Perform tests and inspections and prepare test reports.

B. Tests and Inspections:

1. Leak Test: After installation, charge system and test for leaks. Repair leaks and retest

until no leaks exist.

2. Operational Test: After electrical circuitry has been energized, start units to confirm

proper motor rotation and unit operation.

3. Test and adjust controls and safeties. Replace damaged and malfunctioning controls and

equipment.

C. Remove and replace malfunctioning units and retest as specified above.

3.5 DEMONSTRATION

A. Engage a factory-authorized service representative to train Owner’s maintenance personnel to

adjust, operate, and maintain humidifiers.

1. Train Owner’s maintenance personnel on procedures and schedules for starting and

stopping, troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining equipment and schedules.

2. Review data in maintenance manuals. Refer to Division 01.

3. Schedule training with Owner, through Architect, with at least seven days’ advance

notice.

ALL WORK SHALL BE INSTALLED PER THE REFERENCE DETAILS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT THE DETAILS ARE CALLED OUT ONTHE PLANS. SEE 500 SERIES SHEET(S).

PROVIDE VENTS AT ALL HYDRONIC PIPING HIGH POINTS, AND DRAINS AT ALL PIPING LOW POINTS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER SHOWN ORNOT.

DUE TO EXTENSIVE OCCURRENCE OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS USED IN THE ORIGINAL CONSTRUCTION OF THE BUILDING (I.E. ANY PLAN REFERENCES TO "SMACNA FIGURE ---" REFERS TO THISSTANDARD. SEE SPECIFICATIONS FOR SCHEDULE OF DUCT PRESSURE CLASS AND SEAL CLASS.

IT IS THE INTENT OF THESE DRAWINGS THAT A MANUAL BALANCING DAMPER BE PROVIDED AT EVERY INDIVIDUAL DUCTED CONNECTIONTO AN AIR DEVICE. NOTE, UNLESS A BALANCING DAMPER IS SCHEDULED TO BE FURNISHED WITH AIR DEVICE. ALL EXISTING TEMPERATURE CONTROLS THAT ARE BEING DEMOLISHED OR DISABLED AS WORK OF THIS CONTRACT SHALLBE COMPLETELY REMOVED FROM THIS PROJECT WORK AREA. REMOVE ALL EXISTING CONTROL WIRING, PNEUMATIC TUBING ANDRELATED CONTROLS AND ALL ACCESSORIES MADE OBSOLETE BY THE WORK OF THIS PROJECT. PROVIDE A BRASS COMPRESSION CAPTYPE FITTING AT ALL UNUSED TERMINATIONS. DO NOT PINCH-OFF TUBING.

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONNECT THE NEW HVAC CONTROL SYSTEM TO THE OWNER'S EXISTING BUILDING CONTROL SYSTEM. REFER TOTHE SPECIFICATIONS FOR ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS.

THE WORK OF SECTION 230900 SHALL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ELECTRICAL WORK, COMPLYING WITH REQUIREMENTS OF DIVISION26 SECTIONS:

A. CONTROL WIRING BETWEEN FIELD-INSTALLED CONTROLS, INDICATING DEVICES, AND UNIT CONTROL PANELS.

B. INTERLOCK WIRING BETWEEN ELECTRONICALLY OPERATED EQUIPMENT UNITS AND BETWEEN EQUIPMENT AND FIELD INSTALLEDCONTROL DEVICES.

C. POWER SUPPLY WIRING FROM POWER SOURCES TO POWER CONNECTION ON CONTROLS AND/OR UNIT CONTROL PANELS,INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, AIR TERMINAL UNIT CONTROLLERS, DDC PANELS, DAMPER ACTUATORS, AND VALVE ACTUATORS.

IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT EXHAUST SYSTEMS MAY BE REQUIRED TO BE BALANCED MORE THAN ONCE TO ASSURE DESIGNAIRFLOWS ARE PROVIDED.

THE SCOPE OF WORK FOR THIS PROJECT IS LOCATED ON FLOORS 1 THROUGH 5 OF THE MEDICAL SCIENCE BUILDING. IT ISSTRONGLY ENCOURAGED THAT THE CONTRACTOR VISITS THE SITE PRIOR TO SUBMITTING HIS OR HER BIDS. CONTRACTOR SHALLINCLUDE IN HIS OR HER BID ALL COSTS TO DISASSEMBLE AND REASSEMBLE NEW EQUIPMENT IN ORDER TO MOVE IT INTO PLACE.COSTS SHALL INCLUDE MANUFACTURER SUPERVISION THAT IS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN EQUIPMENT WARRANTIES IN FULL. EQUIPMENTIS NOT ALLOWED TO BE CUT TO BE BROUGHT INTO PLACE. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT STAIR AND SERVICE ELEVATOR TO NOTDAMAGE DURING CONSTRUCTION. SEQUENCES OF OPERATION

GENERAL NOTES:1. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING CONTROL POINT NUMBERS FOR CONTROL POINTS INDICATED ON THESE DRAWINGS.

GENERAL:

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT ENGINEERED CONTROL DRAWINGS, WIRING DIAGRAMS, EQUIPMENT SCHEDULES, ETC., AS

REQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE CONTROL SYSTEM. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE EXPECTED TO WORK OUT THE DETAILS OF

CONTROLLER ACTION, CONTROL LOOP TUNING, NORMALLY OPEN/NORMALLY CLOSED CONNECTIONS, EXACT EQUIPMENT

REQUIREMENTS, ETC., TO PROVIDE A WORKING CONTROL SYSTEM TO ACHIEVE THE SEQUENCES OF OPERATION BELOW. THE

WRITTEN SEQUENCE OF OPERATION SHALL BE THE CRITERION USED TO JUDGE THE FINAL PERFORMANCE OF THE CONTROL

SYSTEM. ALL FUNCTIONS IN THE SEQUENCE WILL BE REQUIRED EVEN IF THE REQUIRED EQUIPMENT AND CONNECTIONS ARE

NOT DEPICTED ON THESE DRAWINGS.

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE LOCATIONS OF BUILDING CONTROL PANELS WITH THE OWNER'S

REPRESENTATIVE.

THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI - COLUMBIA UTILIZES JOHNSON CONTROLS EQUIPMENT FOR THEIR CAMPUS ENERGY

MANAGEMENT CONTROL SYSTEM (EMCS). NEW DDC CONTROL SYSTEM SHALL FULLY INTERFACE WITH THE CAMPUS JOHNSON

CONTROLS METASYS SYSTEM.

THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES EXIST FOR THIS PROJECT REGARDING CONNECTION TO THE CAMPUS ENERGY

MANAGEMENT CONTROL SYSTEM. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OTHER CONTROL ELEMENTS REQUIRED AS A

PART OF THESE SEQUENCES OF OPERATION, EXCEPT AS SPECIFICALLY INDICATED BELOW:

OWNER:

1. THE OWNER WILL PROVIDE THE JOHNSON CONTROLS METASYS PANEL(S) THAT IS REQUIRED FOR THE POINTS INDICATED.

2. THE OWNER WILL PROVIDE ALL PROGRAMMING OF THE NEW METASYS PANEL(S).

3. THE OWNER WILL ADDRESS START-UP OF THE NEW METASYS PANEL(S) AS IT RELATES TO THE NEW CONTROL AND

MONITORING POINTS AND WILL TERMINATE WIRING WITHIN THE METASYS PANEL(S).

NOTE: THE OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITIES ARE LIMITED TO WORK ASSOCIATED WITH THE METASYS PANELS ONLY, AND ONLY AS

INDICATED ABOVE, AND SHALL NOT EXTEND BEYOND THAT.

CONTRACTOR:

1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MOUNT THE METASYS PANEL(S) FURNISHED BY THE OWNER.

2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ROUTE ALL WIRING TO THE METASYS PANEL(S) FOR THE FIELD MOUNTED SENSORS/EQUIPMENT

AS REQUIRED TO ACHIEVE THE SEQUENCE OF OPERATION. NOTE THAT TERMINATION OF THE WIRING IS BY THE OWNER AT

THE METASYS PANEL.

3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE POWER TO THE METASYS CONTROL PANEL(S) AND CONTROL SENSORS/METERS

REQUIRING SAME.

CENTRAL STATION AIR HANDLING UNIT AHU-11 AND RECIRCULATING PUMP HWRP-11:

THE AIR HANDLING UNIT SHALL BE UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE ENERGY MANAGEMENT CONTROL SYSTEM (EMCS). VARIABLE

SPEED FANS (2 TOTAL) SHALL BE UTILIZED TO SUPPLY 100% OUTSIDE AIR TO THE BUILDING SPACES SERVED BY THE AIR

HANDLING UNIT. UNIT SUPPLY FANS SHALL OPERATE ONLY WHEN THE NORMALLY CLOSED OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER IS PROVEN

OPEN VIA END SWITCH.

SUPPLY FAN CONTROL: UPON RECEIVING A SIGNAL FROM THE EMCS TO BEGIN OPERATION, THE SUPPLY FANS IN THE AIR

HANDLING UNIT SHALL BE ACTIVATED. THE FANS SHALL NOT START UNLESS THE OUTDOOR AIR DAMPER END SWITCHES ON

THE DAMPERS HAVE BEEN PROVEN OPEN (HARDWIRED INTERLOCK). THE EMCS SHALL THEN READ THE STATIC PRESSURE IN

THE COLD DECK SUPPLY DUCTWORK VIA TWO (2) STATIC PRESSURE SENSORS, COMPARING THE SIGNAL TO THE

PREDETERMINED SETPOINT (INITIALLY 1.5 IN W.C., ADJUSTABLE). THE SUPPLY FAN VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE SHALL VARY

THE SPEED OF THE SUPPLY FAN MOTORS IN UNISON TO MAINTAIN THE COLD DECK SUPPLY AIR STATIC PRESSURE SETPOINT.

UPON RECEIVING A SIGNAL TO START THE UNIT, THE COLD DECK DAMPERS SHALL FULLY OPEN AND THE HOT DECK DAMPERS

SHALL OPEN TO 50% UNTIL THE SUPPLY FANS HAVE REACHED THEIR COMMANDED SPEED. ONCE THE FANS HAVE REACHED

THEIR COMMANDED SPEED, THE COLD AND HOT DECK DAMPERS SHALL BE FULLY CONTROLLED.

NOTE: AN UPPER LIMIT SPEED SETPOINT SHALL BE ASSIGNED TO THE SUPPLY FAN VFD TO LIMIT SUPPLY AIRFLOW. SET UPPER

LIMIT AT 12,000 CFM (ADJ). UPPER LIMIT SHALL REMAIN SET UNTIL AHU-11 SERVICE AREA IS CONVERTED TO VARIABLE AIR

VOLUME OPERATION IN THE FUTURE.

HOT DECK DAMPER CONTROL: HOT DECK DAMPERS SHALL MODULATE TO MAINTAIN THE HOT DECK STATIC PRESSURE

SETPOINT ESTABLISHED DURING TESTING AND BALANCING.

COLD DECK DAMPER CONTROL: IF THE HOT DECK DAMPER IS FULLY OPEN AND THE HOT DECK SUPPLY DUCT STATIC

PRESSURE IS LESS THAN SETPOINT, THE VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE SHALL VARY THE SPEED OF THE SUPPLY FAN MOTORS

IN UNISON TO MAINTAIN THE HOT DECK STATIC PRESSURE SETPOINT AND THE COLD DECK DAMPER SHALL MODULATE TO

MAINTAIN THE COLD DECK SUPPLY DUCT STATIC PRESSURE SETPOINT.

COIL RECIRC PUMP (HWRP-11), AND IT SHALL RUN AT CONSTANT SPEED UNTIL OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE RISES ABOVE 40

DEGREES.

COOLING COIL CONTROL: WHEN OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE (OA-T) IS ABOVE 50 DEGREES F, THE EMCS SHALL MONITOR THE

SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE (SA-T) AND MODULATE THE COOLING COIL CONTROL VALVE (CLG-VLV) AS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN

SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT (53 DEGREES F, ADJUSTABLE).

HUMIDIFIER CONTROL: PROVIDE DUCT-MOUNTED HUMIDITY SENSOR IN SUPPLY AIR DUCTWORK AS SHOWN ON AHU-11

CONTROL DIAGRAM. MODULATE HUMIDIFIER OUTPUT TO MAINTAIN WINTER SUPPLY AIR DUCT HUMIDITY SETPOINT (55% RH,

ADJUSTABLE) TO ACHIEVE 70 DEG-F / 30% RH IN THE SPACE. PROVIDE HIGH-LIMIT SENSOR IN SUPPLY AIR DUCTWORK TO LIMIT

SUPPLY AIR HUMIDITY TO NOT MORE THAN 80% RH (ADJUSTABLE).

A NORMALLY CLOSED TWO-POSITION CONTROL VALVE SHALL BE PROVIDED UPSTREAM OF THE HUMIDIFIER. UPON CALL FOR

HUMIDITY THE TWO-POSITION CONTROL VALVE SHALL OPEN, ALLOWING STEAM TO FLOW TO HUMIDIFIER. THE VALVE SHALL

CLOSE WHEN THE HUMIDITY LEVEL IS WITHIN SETPOINT LIMITS. VALVE SHALL BE LOCKED OUT WHEN OUTSIDE AIR

TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE 60 F (ADJUSTABLE).

THE HUMIDIFIER HIGH LIMIT SWITCH SHALL BE HARD PIPED WITH THE CONTROL SIGNAL SERVING THE HUMIDIFIER CONTROL

VALVE. WHEN THE HIGH LIMIT SWITCH TRIPS THE SIGNAL TO THE HUMIDIFIER SHALL BE INTERRUPTED AUTOMATICALLY

STOPPING HUMIDIFICATION.

A FACTORY FLOAT SWITCH SHALL BE PROVIDED IN THE HUMIDIFIER HEADER. IN THE EVENT OF A FLOODED HEADER, THE

FLOAT SWITCH SHALL OPEN AND THE MODULATING STEAM VALVE SHALL CLOSE AND AN ALARM SHALL BE ANNUNCIATED AT

THE OPERATOR'S WORKSTATION.

ALARM AT THE EMCS UPON SUPPLY HUMIDITY OUT-OF-LIMIT (INITIALLY BELOW 25% RH, ADJUSTABLE) .

ALARM AT THE EMCS IF SUPPLY AIR HUMIDITY REACHES 85% RH (ADJUSTABLE).

SAFETIES: THE FOLLOWING DEVICES SHALL BE HARDWIRED TO STOP THE SUPPLY FAN WHEN ACTIVATED, AND SHALL

REQUIRE A MANUAL RESET AT THE DEVICE FOR A RETURN TO NORMAL OPERATION.

DUCT-MOUNTED SMOKE DETECTOR (FURNISHED AND INSTALLED AS WORK OF DIVISION 26)

HIGH STATIC ALARM

LOW STATIC ALARM

WHEN ANY OF THE ABOVE SAFETY DEVICES ARE TRIPPED, THE HARDWIRED SAFETY CIRCUIT SHALL STOP THE SUPPLY FAN

AND CLOSE THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER.

VAV TERMINAL UNITS:

VAV TERMINAL UNITS SHALL BE UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE EMCS. REFER TO SHEET M702 FOR SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

OF THE OWNER AND CONTRACTOR REGARDING INSTALLATION OF CONTROLS FOR THESE UNITS. VAV TERMINAL UNITS SHALL

UTILIZE DDC MICROPROCESSOR BASED LOGIC TO ACHIEVE ALL CONTROL FUNCTIONS.

COOLING MODE: VAV TERMINAL UNITS SHALL OPERATE AS CONSTANT VOLUME UNITS AND SHALL CONTINUOUSLY MODULATE

THE AIR DAMPER POSITION TO MAINTAIN THE AIRFLOW NOTED ON THE SCHEDULE.

HEATING MODE: WHEN SPACE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW SETPOINT, THE VAV TERMINAL UNIT CONTROLLER SHALL MODULATE
