Function
CP-Lube is a self-contained pump unit for deliveringhigh-viscosity pastes such as those used forpreference on hydraulic breakers. The pump is connected to the percussion unit bytwo hoses, one from port »PL« of the hydraulicbreaker to the pump inlet, the other as a grease linefrom the pump outlet to port »L« on the hydraulicbreaker. Each time the hydraulic breaker is switched on, thesystem pressure from the excavator acts on a feedpiston in the pump unit which delivers grease fromthe cartridge to the lower breaker part through thegrease line. When the hydraulic breaker is switchedoff, the system is depressurised and the feed pistonis pushed by a spring back to its starting position. The atmospheric pressure acting on the cartridgefrom outside causes more grease to be fed into the
pump chamber, and the CP-Lube is once again readyfor use.The amount of grease delivered to the lower breakerpart depends on how often the hydraulic breaker isswitched on and off and on the setting of themetering screw on the pump unit.

WARNING Hot partsThe percussion unit, the working tool, hoses, pipesand fittings become very hot during operation.Touching them may lead to burns.►Never touch hot parts.
► If you have to carry out activities where you haveto touch the parts, wait for them to cool downfirst.
WARNING Hydraulic oil spillsSpilt hydraulic oil can make a floor slippery. If peopleslip they can be injured. Hydraulic oil isenvironmentally harmful and must not penetratethe ground or enter the water table or watersupplies.►Make sure not to spill any hydraulic oil.
► Immediately clean the floor if you have spilthydraulic oil.
►Observe all safety and environmental protectionprovisions when handling hydraulic oil.
WARNING Skin infections/diseases dueto oil and greaseHydraulic oil and grease can cause rashes (or eveneczema) if they come into contact with the skin.►Avoid all skin contact with hydraulic oil and
grease.
►Use a suitable skin protection product.
►Always wear safety gloves when working withhydraulic oil or grease.
► Immediately clean any skin that has beencontaminated by oil or grease with water andsoap.
NOTICE Environmental pollution due to hydraulicoilHydraulic oil is permanently environmentallyharmful. Escaped hydraulic oil will lead togroundwater and soil contamination. Organismsmay die.►Collect any hydraulic oil which escapes to avoid
environmental pollution. For minor volumes usean absorbing medium (in case of an emergencyuse soil). In case of major leakages contain thehydraulic oil. It must not drain off and penetratethe ground or enter the water table or watersupplies.
►Collect contaminated absorbing medium or soilin a watertight box/container and close it tight.
►Contact an authorized waste managementcompany.
►Dispose of all contaminated material inaccordance with the applicable environmentalregulations.
Depressurising the hydraulicsystem
Even when you have switched off the carrier, aconsiderable residual pressure can still be presentin the hydraulic system.

Assembly instructionsRX14,RX18,RX22,RX25,RX29,RX45,RX53
A residual pressure can still be present in thehydraulic breaker even after you have disconnectedthe quick-release couplings or closed the shut-offvalves.The hydraulic breaker can only be depressurisedusing the hydraulic system of the carrier, by allowinghydraulic oil to drain to the tank via the returnconnection. If the hydraulic breaker is fitted with a high-pressureaccumulator, it can take longer to relieve thepressure in the hydraulic system to the tank, sincea larger volume of oil has to be drained away.Depending on the type of hydraulic breaker, theinternal leaks, the oil temperature, the type ofhydraulic oil and the design of the hydraulicinstallation of the carrier, the time required to relievethe pressure can vary.Depending on the hydraulic system of the carrieryou will have to consider using various measures inorder to depressurise the hydraulic system.Case 1:If measurement connections are present in thesupply pipe to the hydraulic breaker, with which thedepressurised state can be checked using a suitablegage. In order to depressurise the hydraulic breakeryou must observe the following steps:1. The hydraulic breaker must be connected to the
hydraulic system of the carrier device, i.e. thehydraulic hoses must be connected up and therespective shut-off valves in the supply pipe andin the connection to the tank must be opened.
2. Depressurise the hydraulic system according tothe manufacturer's safety and operatinginstructions for the carrier.
3. Measure the pressure with a suitable gage at ameasurement connection in the supply pipe tothe hydraulic breaker.
4. If residual pressure is still present, wait until thepressure has been completely relieved.
5. When you have made sure that no more pressureis present in the hydraulic system, you mustdisconnect the hydraulic connection to thecarrier. Close the shut-off valves or disconnectthe quick-release couplings, so that no hydraulicoil can flow back from the carrier.
Only then you are allowed to carry out work on thehydraulic system of the hydraulic breaker.
Case 2:If no facility for measuring the pressure is present inthe supply pipe to the hydraulic breaker and thereturn pipe is connected to the tank without anintermediate valve connection, you must observethe following steps in order to depressurise thehydraulic breaker:
1. Ensure that the hydraulic oil in the hydraulicbreaker and in the carrier has a temperature ofat least 0 °C. If necessary, pre-heat it to at least0 °C.
2. The hydraulic breaker must be connected to thehydraulic system of the carrier, i.e. the hydraulichoses must be connected up and the respectiveshut-off valves in the supply pipe and in theconnection to the tank must be opened.
3. Depressurise the hydraulic system according tothe manufacturer's safety and operatinginstructions for the carrier.
4. You must wait at least another 30 minutes untilthe pressure has been relieved through leakages.
Only after this period of time will there be no moreresidual pressure present in the hydraulic system ofthe hydraulic breaker.
Case 3:If no facility for measuring the pressure is present inthe supply pipe to the hydraulic breaker and thereturn pipe is connected to the tank via intermediatevalves, which for example close off or pressurise thereturn pipe, you must observe the following stepsin order to depressurise the hydraulic breaker:1. The hydraulic breaker must be connected to the
hydraulic system of the carrier, i.e. the hydraulichoses must be connected up and the respectiveshut-off valves in the supply pipe and in theconnection to the tank must be opened.
2. Depressurise the hydraulic system according tothe safety and operating instructions from thecarrier manufacturer, and where appropriate, those of the manufacturer of the hydraulicinstallation for the attachment.
3. When you have made sure that no more pressureis present in the hydraulic system, you mustdisconnect the hydraulic connection to thecarrier device. Close the shut-off valves ordisconnect the quick-release couplings, so thatno hydraulic oil can flow back from the carrier.
Only then you are allowed to carry out work on thehydraulic system of the hydraulic breaker.

♦ Use your thumb to push the cartridge pistondown until lubricant escapes from the screwthread.
♦ Screw the cartridge into the guide hole of thegrease pump until hand tight.
The CP-Lube is ready for use.
CP-Lube operation
Please remember the following:> The CP-Lube (C) is self-venting, i.e. the system
does not require you to vent it.
> The lubricant level in the transparent cartridge (E)of recyclable PE plastic can always be checkedfrom the cab by looking at the position of the redpiston.
> The piston side of the cartridge (E) must never besealed, otherwise no grease supply will bepossible.
> You can change the supply volume by adjustingthe metering screw (A), depending on the actualuse.
> Tighten the screw clockwise = less grease
> Loosen the screw counter-clockwise = moregrease

Adjustment
Upon delivery, the CP-Lube is always factory set to"lowest delivery per stroke". The factory setting is18.6 mm (x).
x
♦ When starting up the unit set the delivery rate sothat the working tool receives adequatelubrication.
This will depend both on the kind of grease usedand the job involved.
♦ Keep the metering screw setting low (in theminimum range), when performing tunnellingjobs with the hydraulic breaker overhead.
For these applications the grease remains in thelubrication zone for longer than on verticalapplications.
Excessive lubrication is indicated by high amountsof grease being scraped off by the working tool.Insufficient lubrication is indicated by dry and shinyareas on the working tool.
Prefilling the grease line
If the hydraulic breaker has been taken out of usefor repairs, it is important before restarting operationthat all internal grease bores in the hydraulic breakerfrom pump unit to the lower breaker part are filledwith grease. If necessary:♦ Remove the working tool (see Safety and operating
instructions of the hydraulic breaker).
♦ Fill up the system using a manual grease gunattached to the grease nipple on the pump casingof the automatic lubrication system.
♦ Check filling. The system is full when grease isseen to emerge directly at the lubrication point.
