PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT TONIGHT Thursday 8 February Kinder/Stage 1 5 - 5.45pm Infants Open Space Stage 2 5.45 - 6.30pm Stage 2 Open Space Stage 3 6.30 - 7.15pm Miss Nobles Classroom Dear Parents/Caregivers, The first full week back at school has been a busy one! This week our Wiradjuri language lessons started up again for the year and we welcome back Aunty Esther, who will be teaching language with Mr Murray every Tuesday. Mrs Wright has met with all our interested Band students, the school choir is up and running again and Mr Vogels STEM classes have been full steam ahead! It is wonderful to see in every classroom, such happy, respecul students who are highly engaged and on taskwith their learning! On Wednesday and Thursday we welcomed Don Collins from Cowra Bus, Janine Finlayson from Cowra PCYC and Vanessa Browne from NRMA, who presented our annual Bus Safety talks to all classes across the school. Each class was invited to hop on one of the Cowra Bus coaches and students listened to some important informaon and ps about how to keep themselves and others safe. A large number of our students regularly catch the bus to and from school, and it is important that we regularly review these safety measures. Thank you to Cowra Bus, PCYC and NRMA for their connued care and support of all our CPS kids! Tonight we will be holding a Parent Informaon Evening at the school. This is a wonderful opportunity for all parents to come along and meet their childs teachers and find out some general informaon about how classes are organised, homework expectaons, upcoming events and general school rounes. The metable for this evening is as follows; 4:30pm-5:00pm – Mrs Haskews class - please meet in Budyabudya classroom ( upstairs primary building) 5:00pm-5:45pm – Kindergarten and Stage One please meet in the Infants Open Space 5:45pm-6:30pm – Stage Two please meet in the Stage 2 Open Space (downstairs primary building) 6:30pm-7:15pm – Stage Three please meet in Wilay 3 Classroom (upstairs primary building) ** Mrs Hopkins will be meeng individually with her parents at their organised mes. We look forward to seeing everyone at school tonight. Preparaons are well underway for our school Swimming Carnival which will be held next Tuesday 13th February at the Cowra Aquac Centre. Miss Dunk and Mrs Duncan have been working hard to get everything ready to go for what is sure to be a fun-filled day at the pool! Permission notes were sent home last week and all students are geng into the spirit with House war cries being heard across the school. Parents are encouraged to come along and be part of the day and rumour has it, the CPS Staff Relay team have been doing some early morning training sessions in readiness to take on the parents in the Teachers vs Parents relay! Tomorrow we will be holding our first assemblies for the Term. Our new assembly mes are: Infants – 11:30am-12:15pm and Primary – 12:15pm – 1:00pm and these will be held on Friday in Week 2, 6 and 10. Whole school assemblies will also be held on Fridays in Week 4 and Week 8 and these will run from 11:30-12:30pm. Dear Parents/Caregivers, The first full week back at school has been a busy one! SCHOOL BANKING

The Commonwealth Bank School Banking will

commence on Thursday February 8 February. Mrs

Taylor will be the new banking co-ordinator.

Tokens are no longer issued, all rewards are now

tallied electronically. When your child is eligible for a

reward they will receive a slip in their banking book.

SCHOOL PHOTGRAPHS - CHANGE OF DATE

School Photographs will be taken on Thursday 8 March

(Week 6)

The Photographs will be done in classes, and the students

are asked to wear full summer uniform on the day.

If you do not wish to have your child included in their class photo, please contact the school.

SWIMMING CARNIVAL Date: Tuesday, 13th February – Week 3 Time: 9.10 - Students will come to school in the morning then walk down. Location: Cowra Aquatic Centre, Taragala St, Cowra Transport: Teachers will walk students to and from the pool for buses in the afternoon. Uniform: Swimmers, House Colours Cost: $2 or Pool Season Ticket Staff attending with CPR: All primary staff What to Bring: Hat, sunscreen, water, food. Pool canteen will also be in operation.

ANZ Tennis Hotshots for term 1 will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Lessons commence from 10th February. The cost per term is $125 (8 lessons)

Cardio tennis recommences on Saturday 10th February at 8am. Cardio is a tennis based fitness program open to all ages, abilities and fitness levels and you don’t need to have played tennis before. Cardio tennis is $15 per session.

$100 Active Kids Sports Voucher

The NSW Government is helping kids get active with the new Active Kids program. From 31 January 2018, parents, guardians and carers can apply for a $100 voucher per calendar year for each student enrolled in school. The voucher may be used with a registered activity provider for registration, participation and membership costs for sport, fitness and active recreation activities. The voucher can be used at any time during the calendar year it was issued. To use the voucher, give your voucher details to an approved Active Kids Provider. The program runs year-round, so kids can get active at any time!
