Return Overview

Reopening 2020-2021 School Year

Face-to-Face

All students & staff will report in our traditional face-to-face

structure for instruction & work with modified social distancing &

cleaning practices in place.

Virtual Option

Students in grades 1-12 will have an Individual Remote Learning

and Full-time Fulton Virtual option.

Masks / PPE– Masks required for employees – reusable masks– Masks expected for students riding school buses– Masks strongly encouraged for students at school– Additional PPE in clinics and when serving medically fragile students

Wellness / Healthy Hygiene– Leadership will review and respond to official guidance from local, state,

and federal government agencies– Hand sanitizing stations installed in school hallways– Hand-washing and sanitizing throughout the day– Paper towel dispensers installed in bathrooms– Restricted use of water fountains / encouraged use of water bottles

Public Health Signage / Reinforce Expectations– Signage throughout facilities regarding healthy hygiene– Reminders regarding prevention and expected behaviors– Notices – Stay at home if sick– Messages provided in English and Spanish (at specified locations) 3

Enhanced Facility Cleaning– Improved routine cleaning and disinfecting of facilities by custodians– Safe and effective cleaner provided to all teachers and office staff to use on

high touch surfaces throughout the day– Response protocols in place for facilities impacted by COVID-19– Rental agreements reflect District standards and expectations

Physical Barriers in Key Locations– Physical partitions placed in select locations – front desk / media center– Isolation room and other school clinic partitions

Improved Bus Safety– PPE for bus drivers including masks and face shields– Assigned student seating to improve loading and unloading– Safe and effective cleaner provided for high touch surfaces after each run– Buses disinfected after the morning and afternoon routes– Sanitizing station affixed to the bus frame– Student masks expected / social distancing cannot be achieved on buses– Parents may opt to transport students through other methods 4

Health Services– All persons who are sick will be expected to stay at home– All persons who become sick will be sent home immediately– All persons reporting to the clinic will have their temperature taken– Updated response protocols for students and staff who become sick during

the school / workday– Updated guidelines to care for and manage students in clinics– All schools will have a room to isolate symptomatic persons– Team serves as the point of contact with local and state public health

School Nutrition– Parents will be expected to pay for meals online– Some students will eat in classrooms using a grab and go model / social

distancing within the cafeteria– Pre-order meals will be available for parent pick-up for digital and remote

learners as well as quarantined students

Instruction and School ExpectationsInstruction– Increased use of digital resources during face-to-face– Compact standards to make-up for learning loss related to

closure– Increased focus on teacher training for both live & digital

learning practices– Implement targeted social and emotional supports– Building a bank of prerecorded lessons

School Logistics– Assemblies limited to smaller groups of students and

information will be broadcasted live for students in classrooms– Space desks and tables in classrooms to improve social

distancing– Stagger class changes– Arrival and dismissal procedures will be updated– Limit distribution of school lockers– Mask down zones in classrooms– Visitors will be restricted

Technology– Distribute devices to students in grades 3-12 and hotspots as

neededThere will be recess, specials, connections,

band, chorus, orchestra, art and PE.

Registration begins on June 30 and closes on July 17 www.fultonschools.org/enrollment

District provides devices and hotspots as needed

No extracurriculars or high school athletics
