The academic year was full of fun and frolic and interesting activities in the house, apart from our tradition of celebrating all festivities in our own unique and inimitable style. The Intra-house Basketball, Football, Cricket, Table-tennis and Hockey competition were the other house activities that significantly harnessed the energy level of our young boys. Intra-House events provide a platform for the students to take part in Inter-House Competitions. The bygone academic year of 2017-18 made us stronger in every aspect and our self-belief helped us excel in various platforms such as Dramatics, Debating, Sports and Academics.
The all-pervading Kashmir House spirit that inspires every member of
this boarding house is a rare thing to be seen anywhere else. The sense of
being united and never giving up attitude has been the key idea behind
the trophy-laden history of the house. Amogh Rohmetra was
appointed as the Kashmir House Captain, College Basketball
Captain and College Monitor. Kush Agarwal was appointed as the
House Prefect and Gaj Singh Jaswal was appointed as the College
Model United Nations Captain.A congregation of intellects worked hard throughout the year and
proved their mettle by obtaining a Special Medal for Academic
Excellence in the Class XII Board Examinations. The boys were Pavil Garg
(93%), Vaibhav Varma (91.8%) and Ketan Chaurasia (91%).The special medal for securing a 10 CGPA in the Board Examination
was awarded to Vibhav Agrawal and Shashwat Thakur. The
following boys were awarded and commended during the Prize
Giving 2017: Garv Vohra (class IX French prize), Shivam Mehra
(class IX Hindi subject prize), Kanak Arora (class XI Multimedia Web
Technology Prize), Mohit Lal Shrestha (class XII English Prize
(shared)), Fateh Singh (class XI History Prize), Pavil Garg (Seniors
Division Safa Tying Prize) and Janmajay Singh Krishnawat (class XI
Fine Art Prize (shared)). In the Prize Giving ceremony, some boys
received special awards. Vibhav Agrawal bagged the prestigious
Mayo College General Council Scholarship for Excellence in
Academics, wherein 50% of the fees has been exempted and Gaj
Singh Jaswal by bagging the K.C. Khanna Medal for the Best
Extempore Speaker in Hindi Debates, special medal for Excellence
in Model United Nations, Debating, and the special scholarship for
Excellence in Debating. Shivam Mehra, Vibhav Agrawal, Abhinav
Gupta and Samridh Rela, also received the Mayo College
Scholarship for academics.On the sports front, Kashmir House secured the 3rd position in the Seniors Inter House Hockey Tournament and also secured the 2nd position in Inter House Athletics Meet. Kashmir House again showed a collective effort by securing the 3rd position in Inter House Yoga. Tejas Singh has been an exceptional athlete, bringing laurels to the school and has made everyone proud of his achievements that include Districts Athletics Champion, States Athletics Champion, Nationals participation and Under-14 Champion in IPSC Athletics meet. Baljinder Singh was a part of the Hockey team that participated in the Nehru Cup. Daksh Bishnoi, Agrim Mittal, Siddhant Uphadhyay, Kavya Kakrania and Drona Sharma participated in the Squash Open Nationals Tournament held at Mayo College. Abhiviraj Singh won the team Gold Medal in Shooting IPSC and the team that attended the IPSC was declared the overall champion in the Under-14 category. Chetan Singh received a Bronze Medal in Yoga at the State level and a Silver Medal in IPSC Yoga Competition. Vishnu Anand won a Gold and a Silver Medal in IPSC Yoga competition and another Gold in Yoga
