WHAT ARE THE LEGAL REQUIREMENTS AND THE POTENTIAL RISKS?

Regardless of the legal implications, taking every step possible to equip yourself and staff with the right information and qualification is the very least that should be done within the work place environment.

By certifying forklift operators you immediately comply with the code of practice for training in Lift Trucks (forklifts). This forms part of your company's compliance with the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 where it is a requirement that all drivers are trained, certified and authorised to operate forklifts. An F Endorsement is a supplementary provision required for drivers who are likely to operate a forklift on a public road.Non-compliance could result in a maximum fine of $500,000 or two years in prison, or a combination of both.

Truck, WTR, P and V endorsements are the same as any driver’s licence. Driving without a licence could result in fines and imprisonment.
