LECTURE PROGRAMME

SYNOPSIS

BUILDING WORKS MEASUREMENT 1 course provides students knowledge on the development and the importance of quantity surveying profession globally. This course emphasizes on the basic principles of quantity measurement, method of recording measurement in the dimension paper and procedures related to standard method of measurement. It also provides students the skills and expertise to practice basic quantity measurement studies.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLO)

1. Explain correctly the steps in preparing the bills of quantity.

2. Measure accurately the quantities for substructure works according to Standard Method of Measurement.

3. Demonstrate professionally and ethically the measurement works in line with quantity surveying professional code of conduct according to Standard Method of Measurement.

ASSESSMENT

The course assessment is carried out in two sections:i. Coursework (CA) - Coursework is continuous assessment that measures knowledge, technical skills and soft skills.

Quiz 3 (20%)Test 2 (40%)50 %Practical Studio 3 (40%)

ii. Final Examination (FE) - Final examination is carried out at the end of the semester. (50%)
