Lecturer Mr. Mysore Srinivasamurthy RaghuObjectives The aim of this subject is to:
1. Enable students to differentiate between the different types of materials used for road pavement structure.
2. Elaborate on road geometry design, and multiple lane design. 3. Enable students to perform lab and field experiments on highway materials
Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to:1. Identify materials, type of tests, construction methods and plants in highway
construction and able to carry out and evaluate on-site construction and materials quality control requirements.
2. Plan, design, analyze and design pavement structures and maintenance program, and related infrastructures.
3. Understand the highway drainage design systems.4. Conduct highway system economic appraisal.5. Prepare a project report based on the studies on highway materials and design
and construction.Generic Skills 1. Ability to communicate, present ideas clearly, effectively and confidently
