We had a very busy February, and the Dispatch group did a great job under very stressful conditions, the calls

answered within 10 seconds speak volumes about the dedication of the group. Also I want to thank all of the

agencies we serve for their responsiveness, patience, and professionalism.

The call volume and incident numbers handled through Central Dispatch for February 2013 were:

Total Incidents – 8,782 up 8% over February 2012 and up 6.3% YTD over 2012

Fire Incidents – 1,113 up 11.3% over February 2012 and up 11.2% YTD over 2012

Law Incidents – 7,669 up 7.5% over February 2012 and up 6.8% YTD over 2012

911 Calls – 7,866 up 6.1% over February 2012 and up 4.1% YTD over 2012

911 Hang Up calls – 767 down 12.3% over February 2012 and down 17% YTD over 2012

Wireless 911 calls – 84.7% of 911 calls for February 2013 and 84% of 911 calls YTD 2013

911 calls answered in 10 seconds or less – 94.3% for February 2013 and 94.3% YTD 2013

(NENA recommended standard is 90% within 10 seconds)

LGROW Announces 10th Annual Grand River Forum

LGROW will be hosting it’s 10th Annual Grand River Forum and

Spring Meeting on Thursday, April 25th, 2013 at the East Grand

Rapids Community Center. Presentations will include the Grand River

Restoration Project, City of Grand Rapids Water Quality Index, and

changing water levels and what this means for the Lower Grand River

Watershed community. There will also be watershed updates and up-

dates on other LGROW activities.
