Vietnam began with the Red River Valley about 5,000 years ago.

Historical facts

1890 France took over Vietnam. After that war began.

207 B.C A Chinese lord took charge and created kingdom called Nam Viet. That is how Vietnam gotten there name.

Geography

Boats were used to transport goods. Many people

would use it for fishing and selling produce also.

Vietnam itself isn’t just a city. There are lots of attractions rivers and oceans you must visit!

The Red River on the far North shares the Song 10 and Black River.

Vietnam is actually shaped as a S.

The main rivers are Mekong and Red MA. Also perfume.

As you could see in the picture Cambodia is one of Vietnam’s Bordering Country.

Including Thailand they were also apart of Vietnam.

Saigon And HanoiSaigon is known for a large population of people. In fact Saigon was once the capital of Vietnam until Hanoi took over.

The difference between the flags

Since Vietnam is separated into South and North there are 2 flags. The one with the stripes belong to the South. And the one with the one star is for the North.

The yellow represents the people of Vietnam. The red symbolizes the blood. And the five points on the star represents intellectuals, farmers, workers, traders and soldiers.

Fun fact; Did you know Vietnam’s population is 93,421,835.

Government

The current head of the government is Troung tan Sang which is the President of Vietnam.

The type of government in Vietnam is communist state.

Vietnamese money is actually called Dong.

For 0.47 cents in Vietnam it’s a dollar in America.

Buddhist is the major religion in Vietnam. You can find many Temples visiting Vietnam.

Climate (Weather)

The weather in Vietnam is mainly rain and hot sunny days.

Usually Vietnam isn’t able to have snow because it is too hot and it would melt or turn to rain.

Vietnam is known for there rice and seafood. Usually people would make money over crude oil and wooden products. But really the people that get the most money is the people selling the seafood and rice.

Rice and seafood were most often eaten in Vietnam.

Lunar New Years!!

One traditional custom that Vietnamese celebrate is Lunar New Years or Tet. It is basically a Christmas for us Vietnamese people. On that day we celebrate our ancestors that was once a big help to our country. We would pray to our ancestors then celebrate by eating lots of food usually wrapped in these banana leafs. Then after that some would attend a ritual at Temple. Usually on Tet people like to dress in these traditional au yai or a dress.
