INSTRUCTIONS for the COUNTDOWN TO FABULOUS The goal is to have a stack of numbers with the highest number on top. Here’s the easiest way to print, cut, and collate these pages: 1. First, figure out how many total days you want your countdown to be. For instance, if you have 50 pounds to lose and hope to lose at the rate of 1.5 pounds per week, divide 50 by 1.5, which gives you just over 33 weeks. Multiply this by 7 to get the total number of days (231). To get the number of sheets you need to print, divide 231 by 4. You would need 57.75 (or 58) sheets, not counting this one, so you’d print pages 1-59. 2. Print your pages, determining in what order your printer prints documents. Mine prints the last page first so that when it’s done, the “1-2-3-4” page will be on top. (It is possible to reverse the order in the settings or properties in the print dialog box that comes up when you hit the Print command.) Make sure it is set to print in “landscape” mode (wide), not “portrait” mode (tall). Then follow the appropriate set of directions below. If your printer prints last page to first: 3. Use a paper cutter or an X-acto knife and ruler to cut 3-4 sheets at a time into quarters and separate the quarters into 4 different piles. 1. First, figure out how many total days you want your countdown to be. 4. You should have 4 piles of paper, with the top numbers being the last 4 numbers of your overall countdown. (For instance, if your countdown was 100, the piles will be 97, 98, 99, and 100). Start collating to a final stack, making a face-down pile with the 100 first, working downwards, so that when you’re done and you turn the stack over, the 100 will be on top.

5. Bind your countdown pile any way that you are able. Some of the options are:

a. Go to your local office supply store and ask them to make a notepad out of your stack of numbers. b. Punch a hole in each corner and put a string through. c.
