Ferry ticketing – Handbook 206

• Handbook 206 (HB 206) about electronic ticketing has become a part of Norway's regulations.

• All public transportation companies must use HB 206 in their procurement process.

• HB 206 are in accordance with ISO and CEN standards.

Recommendations

• Make use of open standards.

• Standards and specifications should be;

– Easy accessible

– On English

– Owned by some public authority

• Make use of requirements for the interfaces instead of technical requirements for the product.

• More use of functional requirements for the products.

• Cooperation between countries and harmonization of standards.

• Buy large quantities.
