Costumes of Horror

In my film I want to get that home-made feel by creating simplistic scary monster demons.

So therefore something like this would be over dramatic, although being down the conventions of horror, with the ripped clothes and a blood stained shirt, also the bloody face and the dark eyes give an impression of zombie like all show the stereotypical horror villain, however it is to much for my trailer and could even be shown as comedic.

This Is another example of something over the top as although a clown is considered as being scary, and the colours back and red both have connotations with evil and horror, it is again to much for a home like feel scary approach.

This simplistic idea of just a white shirt is perfect as it isn’t to much yet it is enough to be natural so the audience can focus on the film, instead of the branding of the clothes or the ridiculous style, so something simplistic will be more rather than less.

Here is an example of the film ‘The Ring’ where a girl with long dark hair is wearing just a large white T-shirt, yet it still looks creepy with the juxtaposition of ‘cute girl’ to a creepy looking one, this is something that I would like to include in my own final piece as it is easy to do with the budget that I have and it still looks effective.

This is another example of something simplistic with a girl covered in blood over her mouth, indicating she has bitten something or someone. She is also wearing white contact lenses, making her look abnormal.

Here this person is wearing black contact lenses, although it is incredibly simple it looks very realistic and scary, not to mention easy to do. The person instantly looks possessed of some kind and is something I would like to involve in my final piece.

Therefore the simplistic approach shall be the one I am going to go

for.
