Nike SB Shoes:
Typical teenager, trendy, full time student, casual footwear that are
age representable for my main character. They are stereotypically
male and would be expected to be seen on a character like the one
created for my film opening.
Black skinny jeans:
Again, just simple, casual clothing that is associated with teenagers and
expected to see when ‘out of school’. I have chosen black to feature strongly
on the main character to portray his power and formality (being the older
character/brother). The black can also been seen as a hint towards death and
or mystery.
Long White Sleeve T-Shirt:
I have again chosen white for its recognised colour connotation. White is a colour
associated with ‘goodness’ and ‘innocence’, characteristics that I wanted to give to
my main character so they audience are ‘on their side’ and feel the emotion and
horror when he ‘dies’.
Nike SB trainers:Stereotypical, teenager footwear that is to be expected by the audience. This style of shoe is associated with teenagers and commonly seen in public by people of that age. The gray colouring suggests a neutral, balanced emotion, nothing hinting at or revealing of the character. However, it can be seen to convey loss and darkness, which does hint towards the ending of the opening scene
Gray Skinny Jeans:Again, a stereotypical dress for a teenage male. Casual clothing to represent the running of everyday life, and again, the colour gray follows the same connotations as above.
Dark Green/ Blue Long Sleeve Jumper:Casual style clothing, and also suitable for the time of year, and expected/associated ‘outfit’ for a character of that teen age. Dark green can be associated with ambition and the blue with power and integrity, characteristics that i believe can be associated with character 2 (Ross) especially if the opening was to flesh out into a full length film as I had planned for him to become ‘The Protagonist’.
