The Advisory Committee of International Assistance (CATAI)
was formally created in 2004 and is the component of the
Emergency Operations Center (COE), responsible for
coordinating all matters relating to international assistance and
in case of disaster. This international assistance may be
humanitarian or technical and occurs both when Costa Rica is
affected by an event and issues an appeal for international
assistance, and when the damage is to one or more other
countries and received a request for assistance.
Its scope is subscribed to the National Risk Prevention and
Emergency Response and the basic procedures described in
the "Manual of Procedures for the Management of Logistics in
Emergencies".
