The Advisory Committee of International Assistance (CATAI)

was formally created in 2004 and is the component of the

Emergency Operations Center (COE), responsible for

coordinating all matters relating to international assistance and

in case of disaster. This international assistance may be

humanitarian or technical and occurs both when Costa Rica is

affected by an event and issues an appeal for international

assistance, and when the damage is to one or more other

countries and received a request for assistance.

Its scope is subscribed to the National Risk Prevention and

Emergency Response and the basic procedures described in

the "Manual of Procedures for the Management of Logistics in

Emergencies".
