New! Germs: A 21st Century Learning Lab Grades 3-6Unpack a box of 21st century skills in this unique 3 1⁄2-hour program focused on cross-curricular learning immersion that includes:

•“Germinator,” a 45-minute workshop with OSU researcher Dr. Molly Brown in COSI’s Labs in Life where you’ll develop a hand sanitizer and test its effectiveness.

• “Fight Germs, Stay Healthy,” a 45-minute workshop conducted by the COSI Team, where we’ll discover how our bodies protect us from germs, plus a chance to explore classic COSI exhibitions.

• Learn about Columbus’ rich past in the newly-opened Columbus Historical Society gallery at COSI.

Cost: $100 for each 30 students in addition to COSI group rateadmission ($9 per person). Accommodates up to 60 students rotatingin small groups.

New! Health & Medicine: A 21st Century Learning LabGrades 9-12Immerse your students in anatomy, health, and medicine through this unique five-hour, four-part program at COSI.

• Join OSU researcher Dr. Molly Brown in COSI’s Labs in Life for “Frenzied Fleas,” a 45-minute workshop where you’ll test the effects of drugs on the heart rate of a water flea.

• Watch a 90-minute prerecorded human autopsy narrated live by an OSU pathology resident and work to solve for the cause of death (includes materials kit and teacher/student guide).

• Explore BODY WORLDS & The Brain plus classic COSI exhibitions.

COSI’s Toddler Outreach programs begin with a popular early childhood book followed by hands-on activities that promote skill development. Available in Ohio’s Franklin, Licking, Delaware, Union, Madison, Pickaway, and Fairfield Counties.

Get down and dirty in our Early Childhood Workshop Space and explore a variety of topics. Have a difficult topic you don’t see listed below? Work with our Program Manager to suggest a topic and design your own workshop (additional costs may apply). Early Childhood Field Trip Workshops include hands-on activities, post-visit activities for the teachers, and pre-printed take home letters for each student.
