OVERVIEW PAGE
Dear Colleagues,
Corrosion management faces new challenges in the oil and gas sector on a number of fronts, ranging from keeping aging assets operating safely to ensuring new projects are able to meet new design lives.
Given the current market dynamics many oil and gas operators are now reviewing cost-effective strategies to repair and maintain their existing equipment especially those that are subject to corrosion due to severe service conditions such as sour gas, HPHT and environments containing high levels of CO2 and fatigue.
With many facilities exceeding their original design lives, and with new projects being engineered with a 40-year projected life-cycle it’s essential for operators to choose the right materials, prevention, protection and inspection tools to mitigate corrosion as many of these operating conditions are subject to harsh environments such as high H2S and/or CO2 content.
The Middle East region is particularly interested in tapping its challenging gas reserves, of which 60% are sour. With the United Arab Emirates’ annual rate of natural gas consumption expected to increase from the current 2.8 Tcf to 5.2 Tcf by 2015, and 6.3 Tcf by 2020 it is crucial for operators to look into effective corrosion management strategies to ensure the integrity of the assets.
In light of this the 9th edition of the Corrosion Management Summit taking place from 13-16 September 2015 in Abu Dhabi will focus on corrosion management strategies for high temperature and sour environments. This annual event is a platform for attendees to gain insight on best practices through proven case studies and learn about the latest materials, tools and methods to protect the assets from corrosion while improving technical performance.
Based upon attendee feedback and a commitment to continuous improvement, this year’s event will feature keynote speeches, interactive roundtable discussions, Q & A sessions, panel discussions and industry-specific case studies on the latest initiatives taken by operators from initial material selection to operational stages to avoid asset failure due to corrosion.
The challenges you as a corrosion professional face is exactly what will be looked into by the presenters. With presentations from both the upstream and downstream sectors, this conference has been designed to make your time out of the office completely beneficial. Take note of the All-Access Platinum Pass comprising the two-day conference and two-day workshop.
Also remember to book early and save dollars. Ask your HR to contact us straightaway to avail the privilege registration package.
I look forward to seeing you at the 9th Annual Corrosion Management Summit this September.
