INVITATION FOR BIDS

Sealed bids will be received in the Warren County Judge/Executive’s Office, 429 East Tenth Avenue, Bowling Green, Kentucky, until 2:15 PM , Tuesday, February 11th, 2020 for

Corridor & Basin Mowing – Warren County, KY 2020-002-PW

Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the lobby area outside the Judge-Executive’s Office. Bids must be received by the designated date and time and none will be considered thereafter. The Fiscal Court of Warren County, Kentucky reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept the lowest and best evaluated bid. Warren County is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Corridor Mowing – Warren County, Kentucky 

2020 – 002‐PW 

  

Project Specifications:   

1. The following corridors are included the base bid:  

a. Louisville Road – East (US 31W) – Porter Pike to McGinnis Quarry Road – Approx. 4.5 

miles or 23.5 acres  

b. Richardsville Road (KY 185) – Veterans Memorial Lane to Detour Road – Approx. 3.1 

miles or 8.5 acres  

c. Scottsville Road (US 231) – Plano Road to Dye Ford Road – Approx. 1.5 miles or 3.5 

acres  

d. 0 Lassie Drive Basin (corner of Lassie Ln & McTavish Way) – Approx. 1.03 acres  

e. 0 Curling Way Basin (between 1716 &1724) – Approx. 0.33 acres  

f. 0 Detour Road Basin (between 3037 & 3075) – Approx. 0.56 acres  

g. 0 Battlewood Court Basin – Approx. 1.68 acres  

 Mileage and acreage are approximate and should be verified by the Bidder  

2. Bidders are to complete the included Additional Information form to be evaluated along with 

bid prices.  

 

3. The above listed corridors shall be maintained every 2 weeks, beginning March 15th and ending 

October 15th. The above listed basins shall be maintained every 3 weeks, beginning March 15th 

and ending October 15th. Maintenance frequency may vary due to extreme shifts in weather. 

The contractor and owner will agree on these terms in advance. A three (3) year contract 

between the low bidder and Warren County Fiscal Court will be executed with an option for 

subsequent extensions.  The Contract may be terminated by either party with just cause after 

November 1st of each year.  

 

4. Vegetation height within Right‐of‐Ways, including medians and shoulders, shall be kept at a 

maximum of six (6) inches. Shoulders should be maintained to a maximum of 12’ from the edge 

of pavement.  Areas surrounding signs, light poles, and other obstructions shall be trimmed to 

similar heights.  Vegetation height within basins shall be kept at a maximum of four (4) inches. 

 

5. The contractor is responsible for providing all equipment and labor to satisfy the terms of the 

contract. The contractor shall be required to carry Workers Compensation and General Liability 

Insurance.
