� Training and soft-skill development for Security and frontline personnel attending to women

and children in distress on Railway stations.

� Campaigns to ameliorate harassment / distress of women and children, against anti-social

activities like drugging of passengers, trespassing etc. on Stations, offices and depots of

Mumbai Central Division.

M/s ARCIL has following CSR initiatives at Matunga Road Station:

�Solar panels above the platform shed.

�Replacement of lightings with LED fittings.

�Refurbishment of station name boards & Signages.

�Landscape garden alongside tracks.

�Renovation of toilet blocks (north & south end).

�Installation of RO water purifier and stainless steel dustbins.

LED SCREENS AT CHURCHGATE STATION

(K C LAW COLLEGE)

KC Law College installed two LED

Screens at Churchgate Station.

The LED screens display:

Railways Act.

CONSTRUCTION OF TOILET BLOCK

(ROTARY CLUB OF BOMBAY KANDIVALI)

Renovation of 11 toilet blocks undertaken by Rotary Club of

Kandivali. The work of 08 toilet blocks has been completed so far at

following station:

*Renovation work of 03 toilet blocks under progress.

Bandra Station :

� Fencing and beautification of west circulating area (Under

� Development of Garden in west side (Under Progress)

(GAIA)

Gaia Smart Cities (Gaia), an award-winning urban

technology firm did an exclusive tie up to provide

Smart Feedback system to monitor the cleanliness

of toilets across 17 suburban stations in an effort to

improve cleanliness and hygiene conditions:

� Lower Parel � Borivali

NAMMA TOILET – APNA TOILET

(IRCTC)

� IRCTC installed Namma Toilet at KHAR & BDTS under CSR

Scheme.

� The toilets are portable in nature, making them easy to fix

anywhere with minimum use of space.

� The block has eight units, comprising two Gents module, one

Ladies module, one Divyang module and four urinals.

� The advantage of these toilets is that they can be installed in

areas where drainage system is not available.

Under the "Hamara Station - Hamari Shaan" beautification project, 21 stations viz

Churchgate, Marine Lines, Charni Road, Grant Road, Mumbai Central, Mahalaxmi,

Lower Parel, Elphinstone Road, Dadar, Mahim, Bandra, Khar Road, Santacruz, Vile

Parle, Andheri, Jogeshwari, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali, Borivali & Dahisar were

beautified by volunteers of Mumbai First and Making A Difference ( MAD) Foundation

� Artistic painting of Staircases, FOBs, Booking Office areas,

Entrance / Exits and platforms beautified on theme based designs

by approximately 15,000 volunteers under this project.

� Another initiative has been named History Wall, under which one

of the unusual elements being tried out to provide a basic history

plate of the railway station at each of the stations.

� The initiative has been acknowledged across India and

appreciated widely including by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India

and Hon'ble Minister of Railways.

�Dahanu Road Station beautification with Warli Art as

a "Youth Empowerment Project" has been done by

Roshni Foundation and Charitable Trust.

�World-famous tribal art named "Warli art" originated

from Warli tribe who originate from Dahanu Road.

� A mega-beautification drive has been done at Surat railway

station by the Israel-based leading diamond machine

manufacturer, Sarin Techonlogies India Limited as part of their

CSR activity.

� Each of the four platforms, walkways, bridges and entrance on

both the sides of the station were cleaned, painted and beautified

with murals and artwork.

� Around 60 spots at the railway station including ramps, walls,

pillars, walkways, etc, have been painted with beautiful theme-

based paintings depicting the rich history of Surat and vibrancy

of the city's textile and diamond industries.

� Bardoli station beautified on Swaraj Theme under CSR

(ROTARY CLUB OF BOMBAY QUEEN)

� Mumbai Division in collaboration with Rotary Club of Bombay

Queen has completed the beautification of Matunga Road station.

� The theme based painting work depicting the diversified role and

emergence of women in the Society has been done across the

Booking offices, SS office and Foot over Bridges of the station.

Approximate Cost of Project: Rs 1.50 Lakhs

(ASIAN PAINTS)

� Asian paints and St+ Art foundation in association with Mumbai

Division, completed painting of 81ft x 54ft iconic Mural of Mahatma

Gandhi on exterior facade of Churchgate Station Building by

Legendary Brazilian street artist Eduardo Kobra under CSR initiative.

� The mural is an adaption of a photograph of ‘Mahatma Gandhi at the

Railway station, early 1940s’ by Kulwant Roy, which is owned by

Aditya Arya Archive and India Photo Archive.

� The mural of Mahatma Gandhi at Churchgate station aims to use the

power of public art to create a dialogue and join people under a

positive message of peace.

(ASIAN PAINTS)

Asian paints and St+ Art foundation in association with Mumbai Division, completed

painting of 81ft x 54ft iconic Mural of Mahatma Gandhi on exterior facade of Churchgate

Station Building by Legendary Brazilian street artist Eduardo Kobra under CSR initiative.

Escalators at Stations

(Western Coalfields Limited)

Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), one of the eight Subsidiary

Companies of Coal India Limited (CIL) and under aegis control of

Ministry of Coal has funded the project of installation of 05 escalators

at following stations which is under process:

� Khar Road (01)

� Dahisar (01)

� Mira Road (01)

� Virar (02).

Approximate Cost of Project: Rs 5.41 Crores

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), an Indian

state-owned electric utility company has funded the project of

installation of 02 escalators at following stations which is under

process:

� Lower Parel (01)

� Santacruz (01)

LED LIGHTINGS – MUMBAI CENTRAL STATION

(SYSKA LED)

Syska LED, a leading lighting solutions company has replaced all

conventional light fittings with LED fittings at Mumbai Central (Main)

Station.

Approximate Cost of Project: Rs 55 Lakhs

WATER FILTRATION PLANTs- 48 Stations

(Yes Bank)

Yes Bank installed Water Filtration plants with RO purification at 48

Stations of Mumbai Division under CSR initiative.

Approximate Cost of Project: Rs 1.30 Crores

BRAILLE INDICATORS - BORIVALI STATION

(Anuprayaas and Cox & Kings Foundation)

Anuprayas Solutions and Cox & king Foundation installed braille indicators

(for blind) at passenger interface areas of Borivali station (Platforms, Foot

over Bridges (FOBs), subways, Entry & Exit, Booking office, Escalators and

Lifts) for guidance to blind Passengers.

Approximate Cost of Project: Rs 20 Lakhs

� No D&G and supervision charges.

� MOU will be signed between Railway and sponsoring

party.(approved by DRM)

� Water and electricity required as per norm for

provision/installation and O&M of amenities/facilities shall

be supplied free of cost by Railway.

� Maintenance of assets can be done by sponsoring party if

they are willing, else railway will take it over.

BENEFITS FOR SPONSORING PARTY

� Policy says Railway may allow putting up a board/plaque

of reasonable size containing name of sponsoring

party/parties if the cost of infrastructure created is Rs 50

lakhs or above.

� The facility created can have small display mentioning the

name of sponsoring party.

� Size and content of board/plaque will be approved by DRM

and DRM’s decision on this will be final.

DISPLAY OF NAME

� Work should be completed within 2 years from the date of

approval.

� Sponsoring party will not have any right on assets so

created.

� No right for commercial exploitation of assets.

� No right for commercial publicity.

� Technical documents related to installation if any shall be

handed over to railways.

POINTS TO REMEMBER

1. Give proposal/application addressing to DRM (of the

division) or SR DCM.

2. In principal approval by DRM.

3. Permission letter will be issued.

4. Submit details of work and action plan for execution

along with draft MOU.

5. For display of name submit content and size of board.
