Creating Opportunities

Great guest experiences begin with our Team Members. We strive to create a culture where Team Members feel appreciated and empowered to build rewarding careers in hospitality within an inspiring

and stimulating work environment. We also value the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our Team Members, guests and communities and are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive

environment for all.

Building Rewarding Careers

90% of our 130,000 Team Members report they are proud to work for Hilton Worldwide, and we’re proud to partner with them as they grow as Team Members and as individuals. Through Hilton University, we offer a range of courses from management skills and personal development to training in systems and processes.

Supporting Hospitality Education

We support hospitality education internally and in schools. Through hospitality scholarships and youth apprenticeship programs, we’re educating new and existing Team Members around the globe and preparing them for rewarding careers in hospitality.

Fostering Diversity and Inclusion

We believe the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our Team Members, guests and business partners strengthen our organization. We focus on creating internal diversity councils, recruiting diverse team members, investing in diverse suppliers and actively partnering with leading diversity organizations.

Creating Safe and Comfortable Guest Stays

We are committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of our guests – regardless of their location, religious affiliation or ability. Together with our Team Members, we also strive to uphold international human rights principles at our properties around the world. In 2011, Hilton Worldwide signed the Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism and began an internal training program to prevent child trafficking from occurring in our hotels and destinations.

Strengthening Communities

In developing and emerging countries, the travel sector makes up nearly 10% of GDP, creating new jobs, new companies and economic development.

The success of our business is directly tied to the success of our communities, and Hilton Worldwide is committed to fostering economic growth and community involvement where we live and work around the

world.

Supporting Local Economic Growth

Every hotel we open employs local people, sources locally and strengthens the community. As a company, we are committed to leveraging the power of travel and hospitality to fuel economic growth in our communities and in developing markets around the world.

Serving Local Communities

Every day, our Team Members volunteer their time, talent and resources to address local community needs ranging from food, shelter and clothing to business training programs that help underserved populations.

Responding to Disasters

When a disaster strikes, our hotel properties and Team Members play a critical role in a community’s recovery. Hilton Worldwide commits resources and activates our networks to organize local assistance and provide opportunities for Team Members and guests to donate. Wherever possible, we also donate our assets and expertise, including space and hospitality support, to address the needs created by a disaster.

Celebrating Cultures

Our founder, Conrad Hilton, believed in the power of travel to bring people together and foster greater understanding between nations – a philosophy he referred to as “world peace through international

trade and travel.”

At Hilton Worldwide, we strive to promote and preserve the unique cultural heritage of the communities where we operate.

Promoting Cultural Exchange As a company, we embrace the role our properties play in connecting people, expanding outlooks and challenging individuals to immerse themselves in a new way of life. We are proud of our history as the first global hospitality brand in many developing and emerging economies around the world, and continue to create opportunities for guests, Team Members and the general public to learn about and appreciate the diverse cultures of our local operating communities.

Furthering Understanding Through the Olympics

Since 1998, Hilton Worldwide has partnered with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams to foster the Olympics’ universal values of respect, fair play, tolerance and friendship among nations. In 2011, we expanded our engagement to support the Chinese Olympic Team and the Special Olympics and we are conducting an interactive cultural awareness training program around the world.

Preserving Cultural Heritage

Hilton Worldwide is committed to preserving the traditions, culture and historic sites of our communities around the world. We recognize the value of our locations’ differences and partner with our brands and properties to enhance and maintain local cultural and historic heritage as a strategy to make our product offering stronger.

Living Sustainably (LightStay)

We are committed to continuously improving our sustainability performance through measurement, investment and awareness.

Measurement

You can’t manage what you can’t measure. We have developed innovative systems to quantify results in sustainability and to integrate these measures into business. Year after year, the company continues to improve sustainability and economic performance, saving more than $74 million in utility costs as a result of the following: 6.6% reduction of energy use; 7.8% reduction of carbon output; 19% reduction of waste output; 3.8% reduction of water use.

Investment

It’s not enough to be efficient. We continually make strategic investments to mitigate degradation, improve support systems and increase capacity. Over the next three years, we will continue to improve building performance, illustrating our commitment to both long-term cost and energy savings.

Awareness

Through programs and partnerships, we bring awareness and resources to the sustainability issues that matter most to our business and impact our guests, Team Members and communities.
