- KYCR COIL INDUSTRIES LIMITED KYCR Coil Industries Ltd.,a leading concern of KDS Steel is a state-of-the-art Cold Rolling Mills Complex at Kumira, 2Skm from Chittagong City.The plant has been setup as a backward integration effort to provide necessary raw mate- rial for the KDS own Galvanizing plants and the surplus to other business and consumer Inthe Industry.

The plant notably is the only European plant of its kind in the country, supplied bySMS SEMAG,Germany,a world leader in this sector.The Complex which is built on a 10acre site, houses pickling line,6 Hi eve cold rolling Mill Slitting and rewinding line with an annual capacity of 120,000 MT.Commission in 18 months under direct supervision and technical assistance of SMS SEMAG Germany,the result is a continuous and efficient supply of flwless quality product unrivalled by any other inthe industry.Thus,enabling usto bethe most reliable supplier of cold rolledsheet inthe region. KY STEEL MILLS LIMITED

The Company being a member of Steel Division was established in the year 1988 as KIY with its factory at Kumira on the Chittagong- Dhaka highway about 30 Km from Chittagong City.The Company is manufacturing Galvanized Coils and corrugated galvanized sheets from Cold Rolled (CR) Steel Sheets indifferent thickness. Presently the company has two Sheet to Sheet and one Coil to Coilautomatic galvanizing linewith a total production capacity of about 4000-5000 MTof galvanized sheets Coil of various sized per month.

Galvanized Corrugated sheets are being widely used in Bangladesh as roofing materials and also for making the side wall for the rural housing. Head Office in Chittagong City and also with a liaison office at Dhaka. Sales are generally done through major Dealers & Retailers.Total number of permanent employees at the factory isabout 200.

The Steel division is one of the largest of all the wings of KDS. In this division, the Group manufactures and process flat products of steel in all its stages of production, thereby emerging as another fine example of backwards and forward integration including all the stages from Cold Rolling,Skin Passing and Annealing upto Galvanizing to Coated Sheets.The companies operating under this arm of the Group include: KY Steel Limited,KYCR Coils Industries Limited & Steel Accessories Limited. Since it was founded, KDS Steel has been at the forefront of an impressive development of flat carbon steel manufacturing in Bangladesh and has continually expanded its capacity and expertise in flat steel manufacturing through integrated and strategic backward and downstream expansions.

KYCR NOF GALVANIZING MILLS

In December 2007, the KDS Steel has commissioned its first Non-Ox-Furnace (NOF) type Continuous Galvanizing Line to produce Lead-free Galvanized Sheets of international quality under the name •KYcR NOF" with production capacity of 60,000TPA.
