Based in France at the Montigny le Bretonneux site (Paris area), GEA Kestner is part of GEA Process Engineering. The company, with its 170 employees mainly technicians and engineers, generates a revenue of 75 million Euro, two thirds of which come from international contracts. The comprehensive experience and expertise of our teams allow us to constantly invest in innovation in order to help you further improve the quality of your products by simultaneous reduction of your costs and environmental footprint.

Since Paul Kestner took out his patents for the climbing and falling film evaporators in 1897 and 1901 respectively, we have been continuously developing new evaporation and crystallization solutions (DTB, Oslo, forced circulation, induced circulation…).

Our philosophy is to listen attentively to our clients’ needs in order to offer them a personalized and reliable solution. We have carried out more than 1 000 tests on products or families of products of which 150 are now produced in our units around the world.

EvaporationOver the years, GEA Kestner has been developing different evaporation technologies in order to remove a product‘s solvent to increase its concentration and reduce its volume. We propose climbing film, falling film, climbing and falling film, forced circulation and flash evaporator solutions. Our commitment is to offer our customers the most suitable evaporation technology taking into account their market application and the product‘s physical properties (boiling point elevation, viscosity…) and characteristics (impurity content, fouling tendency, foaming tendency).

CrystallizationDifferent types of crystallization units can be proposed: crystallization by concentration, by cooling, by reaction or by equilibrium displacement. For each one of these processes, we are able to provide different technologies: DTB, Oslo, forced circulation, induced circulation. We deeply analyze our customers’ final product specific requirements like granulometry, purity… in order to propose the most suitable solution. GEA Kestner also offers complete packages that include solids / liquids’ separation such as centrifugation, filtration, drying.

stripping - AbsorptionOur technical skills are mostly based on binary distillation, absorption or stripping. The main chemical products for which we are able to provide these technologies are hydrochloric acid, fluorhydric acid, nitric acid and sulphuric acid...
