Welcome to our school!Last night we welcomed the new Kindergarten parents for 2019 to our school community at an introductory meeting. It is always a special time when our children start a new chapter in their lives. Please join me in welcoming our new families and support them through their new journey in becoming part of the wonderful Corowa Public School community.
Safety first when riding and scooting to schoolBikes and scooters have been arriving in droves at school and it is fantastic to see students increasing the active component of their day. Unfortunately, we have had more and more students arriving without helmets, or even with helmets strapped to their backpacks. We are seeking parental support to ensure all students utilise their helmet when riding or scooting. At school, we will discuss with students the safety elements of helmet wearing, as well as the legal ramifications for those not wearing a helmet. Safety if always a priority and we need to enforce helmets when riding.
P&C Committee 2019At our P&C meeting on Monday 3 December, I will be discussing our plans for 2019 and the ways in which you can support our school in the future. Our P&C meetings only run for an hour, once a month, and it is a valued component of our working relationship with parents. Please come along, join our discussions and support our school.

Echidnas work on decimalsEchidna students have been working hard in Math lessons recently to get a firm grasp on using decimals! After a whiteboard session with Mrs Pirnag in Tuesday morning, they settled in to
work out their math problems on their own.
Town planning in Stage 1 & 2After weeks of constructing houses, bridges and other buildings in class, stage 1 and 2 students finally got to put their town together on Tuesday! Students carefully placed their buildings and
then used chalk to draw roads, gardens, lakes, car parks and pools to finish their town!
Matilda takes up the challenge!Well done to Matilda Hicks, who took part in the Premiers Reading Challenge this year!
Corowa Public School did not take up the challenge this year, so Matilda joined up on her own and did a fantastic job!
Matilda received her certificate of participation at the Book Week assembly last Friday.

Sugar Gliders kick goals!Sugar Glider students worked on their soccer skills on Tuesday afternoon. It was hot work!

Skate park planning at CPSDid you know that the Federation Council are upgrading the Corowa skate park?
A design workshop was held in the Quokka classroom this week, with representatives from the Skate Park Upgrade committee, giving our students a chance to have their say!
It was wonderful to see so many CPS students taking an interest in this great initiative.

Book Week By Ruby, Isabelle and Regan.Last Friday, we had Book Week and got to dress up as our favourite book character for a parade. At the Book Week assembly, Mrs Brewster showed us the books that were short listed and told us the result of our vote. The most popular book was The Second Sky.
The books that were most popular for the Book Week judges were Rodney Loses It, Don’t Lick this Book and A Walk In The Bush.
