    Introduction

    The Essential Worker National Testing Programme (Essential Worker Self-Referral Service) provides

    Coronavirus (COVID-19) tests to essential workers and/or symptomatic members of their household.

    The purpose of the programme is to support the return to work of essential workers and help employers

    maximise their workforce capacity during this unprecedented time.

    It is therefore the Company’s expectation that employees will partake in the testing process and will share

    the results of their test with their line manager.

    This guide has been produced to supplement the guidance already available from the Government; links

    to the Government’s website and contact details for the Coronavirus Testing Helpdesk can be found at

    the end of this document.

    The (anonymised) data on the number of tests undertaken and the results received will be published daily,

    therefore it is vital that details of tests and the results are please sent to [email protected] in timely

    manner.

    Additional Eligibility for Testing in Scotland

    To meet the Government’s testing criteria an individual must first fulfill the eligibility criteria outlined on the previous page.

    In addition the Scottish Government has set out a prioritisation matrix for identifying which key workers should be able to access testing in Scotland. Viridor have identified our colleagues in Scotland to be;

    • Priority Group 2: Essential workers in critical national infrastructure fundamental for safety and security, and life-line services. Including “essential roles in energy and water supply”

    • Priority Group 3: Staff directly involved in delivering other essential services.
