eventeen hundred years have passed since the Saviour gave his life for his creation, but the Creator
has been forgotten and the world has fallen into the deepest throes of darkness. The land itself is torn
asunder by the devastating wars of conflict that rage across the earth. The righteous hosts of heaven clash
in ceaseless struggle against the besieging demonic hordes of hell. Yet, it is not the world's fate which lies
in the balance, but the very lives and eternal souls of the mortal men and woman which inhabit it.

Knowing that their end has already been set and their fates forever sealed in defeat, the demonic legions
wage their endless assault upon the world of man. Haven fallen thousands of years before, they were cast
out of heaven for assaulting the throne of the Most High, becoming transformed by the darkness they
chose. Now as infernal, twisted and corrupted forms of their bygone glory, they seek nothing but to lay
waste to all of creation. Their armies overshadow the world, and those whom they cannot lure to their side
with false promises of power and desire, they force into subjugation under their demonic rule. They know
that there is nothing which they can do to reverse their fate, and all they desire is steal, kill and destroy,
dragging every last immortal soul of mankind into their eternal damnation.
It has been so long since the beauty of creation has been corrupted and despoiled. But, in all this
darkness, there lies a single hope for the world in the memory of it's forgotten Saviour. And there yet
remains a chosen few, those who have not given up their faith. Those who have not given into the despair
and misery of their tormented world. They are the last bastion of hope and the harbingers of deliverance.

SECTION VI: EQUIPMENT & ARMS
This section deals with the many aspects of
equipment, wealth, economy and trade. It presents
an overview of wealth and money, quality,
availability and craftsmanship. It also presents
information and listings on the various services
and goods available as well as weapons, armour,
gear, and technology.
SECTION VII: PLAYING THE GAME
This section covers the areas that the Game
Keeper, as well as the players, will need to be
familiar with in order to play. It will teach you how
to use the dice to determine the outcome of the
various tests you will need to make. It will guide
you through handling the manouvers and
intricacies of combat and the impact that they will
have on your characters. It also explains how your
characters will improve and develope over the
course of their adventures.
SECTION VIII: THE GAME KEEPER
If you are going to be the Game Keeper, then you
will have a special role to play in your games and
this section is for you. As the GK, you will learn
about the different types of players that you will
encounter as well as how to keep your games fun
and fair for everyone involved. You will learn more
in depth details about running games and how to
both adjudicate the rules and when to break them.
This section covers that most important aspect of
play, the Game Keeper.
SECTION IX: WORLD INFO
This section describes the world and cultures of
Echoes of SalvationTM. It provides the background
and history of the world as well as going into a
deeper look at the various regions and their
inhabitants, peoples, and factions. It also contains
a minor Bestiary, listing many of the dangerous
and deadly creatures and adversaries that can be
found throughout the world. As a player or Game
Keeper you should find a wealth of information
within to add flavour to your games.
SECTION X: SHARDS OF SALVATION
In this section you will find an in depth
introductory pre-set adventure that you and your
friends can use to kick off your adventuring
careers. It will take you from subjugated captivity
through many perils and finally bring you face to
face with your purpose as one of the last bastions
of hope for the world. Be warned though – this
section is for the Game Keeper's eyes only and
should not be read in any way by any of the
players as it will obviously spoil their experience
and surprise.
SECTION XI: APPENDICES
This section contains a reference of handy
appendices that provide a wealth of quick-
information for games. They include the game
license and credits, both blank and pre-generated
Character Record Sheets, a glossary and index,
and various reference tables.
