Are you looking for another way to enjoy our winter weather? Come check out the Nordic Center at Cordillera for snowshoeing, as well as cross country skiing. The Nordic Center has groomed trails along the Mountain Golf Course located on the Ranch in Cordillera. You can stop in the Nordic Pro Shop for the latest outdoor gear from North Face and Swix. While you’re browsing the clothing, help yourself to hot cocoa, cider, and some snacks before you head out to the trails.

If you are new to Nordic sports, you can attend a beginner’s clinic every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 10:00 am or 2:00 pm. The clinic is $35 for Cordillera Club members and $45 for the public. That includes lessons and rentals. Each clinic is about 75 minutes long. To make reservations please call 970/926-5100.

If you already have a grasp on snowshoeing and cross country skiing, simply bring your gear and head out for a fun afternoon in the snow. Dogs are allowed along the snowshoe trail so bring your furry friend along!

Trail use is free to Cordillera Club members as well as Cordillera Property Owners. Trail passes for the public are $8 a day and $40 for the season.

The Nordic Center offers Nordic skiing and snowshoeing six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday, from mid-December through March. Trails are open every day, except Monday, from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. For more information, please click here.

See you out there!

4 December was a busy month at the Lodge. With all of our wonderful holiday events and the beautiful Members Appreciation Reception, time just flew by! However, we did find time to make some children very happy at our Brunch with Santa!

With the start of the new year and all the fresh snow, the Valley is the premier location for people to come and enjoy the majestic Colorado surroundings. And what better place than Cordillera. Whether you are looking for a delicious treat or to pamper yourself with a 3 course meal, dining at the Lodge & Spa at Cordillera is the place to be.

We offer complementary S’mores by our fire pit every Friday and Saturday evening from 8:00 -10:00 pm. Or join us in Mirador for the best deal in the valley - 3 courses for only $39!! Let Chef Smelser tickle your taste buds with his delightful take on contemporary American cuisine.

After a long day on the slopes, sometimes all you need is a nice long nap…but how about a massage followed by a nice relaxing sit in the steam room? At the Spa, you can do all of these things and more to get your body ready for the next day of crushing powder! Contact the Spa at 970/569-6359 to make an appointment today!

Club News Club NewsGreetings Community Members, The Mountain course has turned into a winter wonderland! Our agronomy crew has been packing the trail and they have groomed the trails. Both the Nordic Center and Timber Hearth are open! It is with great pleasure that I announce The Club at Cordillera now offers a 20% discount to all Members on food, beverage, and merchandise in the golf shop.

Executive Chef, Matt Limbaugh, and Wine Director, Jason Baez, have been busy collaborating and developing the winter menu for Timber Hearth Restaurant. The two have worked together in the past and share the same passion for food and wine. Chef Limbaugh has some wonderful seasonal menu ideas and has been busy contacting purveyors with whom he already has established relationships to ensure only the finest products available will be served at Timber Hearth this winter.

In addition to the a la carte menu, a tasting menu will be available. This will be a great way to be introduced to Chef Limbaugh’s culinary style and talents. Jason, who is familiar with these talents, is selecting the wines to pair with this menu and has purchased several things to add to the growing wine list at Timber Hearth.

Save the date of Tuesday, 7 January, for The Prisoner Wine Company Dinner. Winemaker Jennifer Beloz will join us for this special event. All four wines produced by TPWC will be served, each with a different course. Chef Limbaugh has tasted the wines and is excited to unveil his pairing menu. We have started taking reservations for this very special and unique dinner, so make sure to reserve your spot today.

Our weekly Member Wine Mixers at the Timber Hearth have resumed. Other Winter Wine Mixers that have been booked are Aberrant Cellars, Cathy Cohn from Synergy Fine Wines who will be joined by four amazing winemakers from Argentina, and Damon Ornowski from Vin Divino who is excited to return as well. We are very excited for all of you to experience this season at the Timber Hearth!

Now that winter is here, I decided to feature a Troon Golf favorite, in the WARM part of the country. Over the next few weeks I will introduce our Arizona courses, starting with The Gallery. Set in the beautiful and unique Tortolita Mountains, The Gallery Golf Club is characterized by breathtaking vistas and the rich history of cattle ranching. The Gallery provides comfort and amenities in a relaxed southwestern atmosphere, perfect for quality time spent with family and friends. Two highly acclaimed courses offer the finest in desert golf. The picturesque North Course, designed by Tom Lehman and John Fought, features sweeping views of the high Sonoran desert landscape; while the South Course, which hosted the World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play Championship in 2007 and 2008, features subtle elevation changes with views in every direction. The exceptionally maintained courses are set in a lush and natural desert environment, making the experience highly enjoyable for all skill levels. The Gallery Club is available for you to golf for a cart fee of $25.

Please visit www.troongolf.com and contact me with any questions at 970/470-9415 or [email protected].
