Destinations

CORBETT: A perfect destination to plan with Tigers, Elephants, Mammals, Birds and landscape in mind. Corbett offers the best chances to sight Tigers, Elephants and mammals with many resident and migratory birds along with the best landscape on the bank of Ramganga river. Apart from Tigers and Elephants, other mammals found in the park are Sloth bear, Jungle cat, Leopard cat, Wild boar, Chitals (spotted deer), Barking deer, Sambhar Deer and much more. At least 500 resident and migrant bird species have been identified, including Shikras (Levant sparrow hawks), Indian white-backed vultures, Black Francolins, Red Jungle Fowl and many more. All said, this is one national park in India which should never be missed by any Wildlife Enthusiast! Another unique thing about this park is, it is one of the very few parks in India where one can stay inside the park in the Forest Rest House and enjoy nature from very close proximity!

To increase the chance of sighting and also see different terrains or zones of Corbett, one will be visiting 3 main zones of Corbett National Park. One will stay 1 night in Bijrani and 3 nights in Dhikala and 1 day visit for an evening safari in Jhirna zone. Each zone has it's uniqueness. Bijrani is known for tigers and recently good sightings of Yellow throated Martins! Jhirna is known for its fruit trees and Great Indian Hornbills. It is close to the buffer zone so there is a lot of movement of tigers and elephants. Dhikala is the biggest zone and one has to stay inside the park. Maximum number of days allowed to stay is 3 nights and you will be staying there throughout that time. This increases your chances of sighting wildlife as one is right there in the middle of the jungle. Dhikala zone is amazing for photography by amateur and professional nature and wildlife photographers.
