The Kumbam made of a 60 ton granite stone was placed on top of the main gopuram at a height of 60 metres.

It is believed to have been taken to the top by creating an inclined slope of 3 miles to the top of the gopuram. Elephants must have been used to drag the stone.

Such feats 1000 years ago underlines the importance of planning and time management
