Foreclosure Market Segment

The foreclosure market is one of the the hottest part of the real estate market.

Distressed property sales accounted for 30 percent of sales in October, according to NAR.

937,840 properties received foreclosure filings in Q3 2009, highest quarterly total on record.

Foreclosure buyers account for 25.3 percent of consumers interested in purchasing a home, according to Move.com survey in November.

After clicking the “Join Now” button on the first page of the registration, you will be taken to the second registration page, where you can sign up for a 7-Day Free Trial or monthly membership. The free trial automatically rolls to a paying monthly membership unless canceled during the trial period.

Finding a Foreclosure Property from a Lead

When you receive a lead from a buyer using the foreclosure search, you’ll be given a “Foreclosure ID” that will help you find the property on RealtyTrac if you are a RealtyTrac subscriber.

If you’re not a RealtyTrac subscriber you can look up limited property information using the street name and city name provided in the lead.

RealtyTrac subscribers can click on the blue RealtyTrac button on LeadStreet, log in, then go to “Advanced Search.” Select “Property ID/APN” under Search Type and then type in the Foreclosure ID# from the lead and click “BEGIN SEARCH.”

Click on the RealtyTrac button in LeadStreet to access the RealtyTrac interface. Then type in the street name and city name in the search box and click “List.”

You’ll see the subject property at the top of the search results page. You can click on the street name to view the property details, but please note you will not receive the full address or foreclosure details for the property unless you are a RealtyTrac subscriber.
