The Great Goddess, the Divine Ancestress. Mamma. In prehistoric and the earliest historic periods in human development, religions existed in which people revered their supreme creator as female. The Great Goddess, the Divine Ancestress, was worshipped as far back as the Upper Paleolithic about 25,000 B.C. and not7,000 B.C. as has been previously believed by archaeologists and scholars based on archaeological evidence. The last supposedly Pagan Goddess Temples were closed about 500 A.D. but the Cult of the Goddess Virgin Mary is one of the most important cornerstonesof Christianity. The early converts to Christianity were pagans with various degrees of female divinity in their old beliefs and the development of Marian Devotion rather than be a total rejection of their former pagan beliefs, may have just been a part of their transition to Christian beliefs. Just something that made Christianity easier to understand. The new religion had to compete with all of the old ideas about the Motherhood of the Universe. Thenew religion was all about the new ideas about the Fatherhood of the Universe. This wasn’ta new truth, it was just a new idea. It is very interesting that throughout the history of Christianity that there have been far more visions of the Goddess Mary than visions of Jesus, with the majority of the visions coming from females. There are currents of ultra feminism that regard the Goddess Virgin Mary as a syncretism of the Goddess Mamma andin the terms of cosmic consciousness it only seems natural that the Mother of God is also the Mother of the Universe. Christianity must of course absolutely deny this connection.

Little has been written about the female deities who were worshipped in the most ancient periods of human existence and still today, the material there is has been almost totally ignored. Most of the information and artifacts concerning the vast female religion, which flourished for many thousands of years before the advents of Judaism and Christianity, was dug out of the ground after the Second World War. It is these more recent excavations which have changed our view of our most ancient history. Archaeological evidence proves that the Great Goddess Religion existed and flourished for thousands of years before the arrival of the patriarchial Abraham, first prophet of the male deity Yahweh: Jehovah as the Father of the Universe. The primordial Goddess Religion of sacred women rejects the domination and superiority of men.

The Goddess Inanna.Ancient Mesopatamia has been called the “Cradle of Western Civilization” and it is in this region of the Near and Middle East that the development of the Supreme Female Deity is intertwined with the earliest beginning of religion so far discovered anywhere on Earth. Mamma was the Mother of the Universe and no husband or male god is attested in any connection with her, thus leading to the belief that the first cosmic production is asexual oran “immaculate conception” or parthenogenesis. Humanity is still struggling with the ultimate understanding of this first concept. The first male deity wasn’t something created by her but just something “asleep” and “awakened” in her and a pantheon of a family of

female and male divinities slowly evolved and as this happened the Goddess Mamma slowly faded into the past with the Goddess Inanna becoming the Goddess and Queen of Heaven and Earth and the only divinity able to descend into the Underworld of Death and resurrect to life again. Inanna means “Lady of the Sky” and associated with the planet Venus as well as the prototype Sun Goddess. Inanna also became the Goddess of Love and War. War was her male identity. Inanna was worshipped in Sumer at least as early as the Uruk Period (circa: 4,000 B.C. to 3,100 B.C.). Inanna-Ishtar were once separate but became syncretized as one divinity. Ishtar was the East Semitic Akkadian, Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of love and war. She is the counterpart to the original Sumerian Inanna, and is cognate to the Northwest Semitic Aramean goddess Astarte. Ashtoreth is the Canannite version of Ishtar. This process of syncretization continued until the GoddessInanna became the universal Goddess of Love as known by so many names. Durga is the Mamma- Inanna counterpart in India. Durga has over 108 other names to describe her primordial reality. Each of the different names of Inanna is just a different field of flowers.

The Fields of Flowers of the Goddess Inanna. The Necronomicon or Book of the Dead (circa: 1920’s) is imaginary fiction by the Americanauthor H.P. Lovecraft. I have used Lovecraft’s Seven Rung s of the Ladder Of Lights or Seven Gate’s Kingdoms of the Ladder of the Lights to explore a deeply romantic dimension of the Goddess Inanna’s relationship to a man.

The custom of lovers giving each other flowers is the tribute to the ancient worship of Inanna as both the Goddess of Love and the Goddess of War. Love is a battlefield. The manifestation of Inanna is the most beautiful flowers of a field and in the saddest deaths ofthe battlefield, which is that field’s fairest flowers. She appears in the company of female Lions at her sides, female lions do all of the hunting, and the colour of her rung step (her gate) is white on the Seven Rung Ladder of Lights. She appears as either wearing a long flowing dress with a crown of flowers on her head or wearing full body armour with a helmet on her head and weapons strapped to her back. The Lions pull her war-chariot. She is the highest power of the most beautiful woman imaginable and her Third Gate is the Third Kingdom that a man seeking ultimate knowledge must pass through and is by far themost dangerous of all of the realms that he must traverse.

As the Goddess of Love, Inanna will bestow a favourable bride upon any man who makes the proper sacrifices to her involving prayers chanted over a bowl of Pomegranates. If the woman accepts the offering and eats the fruit then she is bestowed from Inanna to the man. The Garden of Eden is now believed to have been located in the geography of ancientMesopotamia, with the forbidden fruit being a pomegranate.

But know that Inanna takes her own for her own, and that once chosen by her, a man must always remain in her realm and not be allowed any love in real life. This is the great danger that the man faces when passing through her kingdom. Once in her Kingdom you can only look at her. You can’t touch her. So very great is her power.

If Inanna chooses a man for her own then she may still allow the man to leave her kingdomif he makes the right offering to her. The problem with that plan is that nobody really knowswhat the right offering is supposed to be. Men who have made the right offering to her never say what it was that they had to do.

I believe that the offering to Inanna is a question that you must ask her. The man must ask the goddess to tell him the time of his death. Only then will the goddess let the man go.

Goddess Shae-Lynn Teresa Petersen will the day that I stop loving you be the day that I die?

Goddess Shae-Lynn Teresa Petersen it is now only because of you that I take flowers into Churches and say prayers to the Goddess Inanna asking for her help for you to love me.

Goddess Shae-Lynn Teresa Petersen it wasn’t until I saw you that I could begin to try to imagine how beautiful Inanna must be. You are the most beautiful woman that I have ever seen.
