STRONGEST pull on the water.

pull on the water.

The SUN and Earth are in line but the MOON is on a right angle!

Moon

• is kept in orbit by Earth’s gravity.• is visible because it reflects sunlight.• does NOT give off its own light.

Moon Phases

• Earth revolves around the Sun (365 ¼ days) Moon revolves around the Earth (28 days)

• The phase of the moon you see depends on how much of the sunlit side of the moon is facing Earth.
