    Introduction

    Sintex Industries Limited Earlier known as The Bharat Vijay Mills Ltd and

    has two divisions textiles and plastics.

    Their Plastics Division started in the year 1975 and today they have mostdiversified manufacturing capabilities in plastic processing in the world, with 10plants spread across the country.

    more than twelve manufacturing processes under one roof, having more than500,000 Sq. meter area and a more than 1000 strong work force.

    They have also created extensive finishing, assembling, metal fabrication andconcrete products facilities. Combination of such varied capabilities along withtheir state-of-the-art design and tool room facilities enables us to give vast array

    of products and solutions.

    Incorporated as The Bharat Vijay Mills Limited in June 1931

    Established composite textile mill in Kalol, Gujrat

    1975-90

    Commenced manufacturing of plastic moulded polyethylene liquid storage

    tanks including water tanks.

    Introduced new plastic products like doors, window frames and pallets

    Plastic Sections for Conversion into Partitions, False Ceilings, Wall

    panelling,Cabins, Cabinets, Furniture etc.

    Strategy

    The company is aiming to change its earlier image of a seller ofhardcore industry products and water tank manufacturers and turn its

    attention to marketing its range of more `retainable' products. The company has also proposed to extend its marketing network

    beyond the distributorships by engaging dealers for the first time. Inaddition to 350 distributors, it will have 25-30 dealers under eachdistributorship.

    The Rs. 120-crore Sintex Industries has identified multi-purpose bins

    made of re-engineered ESC (environmental stress crack) resistantplastic material as its thrust area. These bins are being projected asthe company's `millennium products' in key marke ting centresacross the country. The bins and storage cans are targeted at thoseengaged in agriculture, dairy, fishery and food processing sectors,besides civic authorities, hospitals and households
