Razzle Dazzle, Bright lights and red carpet were the themes for Coonabarabran Public School‟s Primary Performing Arts Night last Thursday evening. The primary section of the school presented “ A night at the Movies” which proved to be a spectacular show of our school talent and pizzazz! The evening opened with 6D‟s rendition of the famous Micheal Jackson „s Thriller with many moon walks and moves being displayed, this was followed by cute Year 3 dressed as baby lions and performing to „ I just want to be King‟ from the movie The Lion King. The movie themes kept rolling with 4S “off to see the wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz”, whilst children‟s favourite „Annie‟ was re-enacted by 4K. It was then time for some strange costumes, tuille and dark eye makeup with the wacky „Time Warp‟ presented by 5E. This was followed by cool „Men in Black‟ from 3-6S and Mr Lowe‟s class. Mr Adam‟s class brought Bollywood to life, whilst Mrs Redman‟s class were pschyo-delic baby as Austin Powers. Then we were inundated by little green creatures as Year 3 took to the stage again as tiny Shrek characters. The night was narrated by four talented Year 6 children– Nicholas Davies, Harley Wood, Aimee Sanders and Annie Nash who all posed as famous movie critics and did a fabulous job of keeping the night moving. The night culminated into a huge finale, firstly led by the very talented choir and then concluding with the whole school singing and performing some great moves to “ Greased Lightning” from the very famous movie „Grease‟. Overall “A Night at the Movies” was a huge success and had the audience certainly swaying in their seats.
A big thankyou to everyone who helped with the planning, preparation and presentation of this musical.
Congratulations to all children who performed at the Performing Arts Night, you should all be very proud of the outstanding performance . One day we are sure we will see some of you on the big screen!!!!

Rugby Union State Trials Wagga Wagga
17-19 August 2010 On the first day it was good weather. The second day there was a lot of rain in the afternoon which made for a muddy third day. From our school representing the North West, Blake Cain was halfback, Tyrone Walker was winger and myself, Joshua Fitzpatrick, was five- eighth. We played six games over three days against tough opponents and had a great win against the Hunter region. Blake received the North West Encouragement Award. Overall we had an enjoyable experience. Touch State Trials Gosford
24-26 August 2010 We had three players from our school representing the North West—Blake Cain, Harley Wood and myself, Joshua Fitzpatrick. The weather was perfect for touch. On day 1 we played 5 games, day 2 we played five games and on day 3 we played two games. Our team was very competitive, winning two games. One convincing win against Combined Independent Schools and the other against the South Coast. This too was a very enjoyable experience.
