1983 founded KSK Kuhlmann – System – Kühltechnik GmbH is a specialist for high-quality, individual plant and heat engineering

in the area of melting and recycling processes as well as in the area of exhaust gas treatment and heat recovery of the energy-

intensive industry. Together with our two affiliated companies – KSK Automation GmbH and KSK Concept & Engineering GmbH –

we combine interdisciplinary competence and know-how in the field of construction, automatization, production as well as

process and heat engineering. Based on our many years of experience we plan and realize projects in the steel-, chemistry-,

non-iron metallurgy-, and the recycling industry of Germany, Central Europe, the USA and Northern Africa. The headquarter of

our business group is in Haltern am See, Germany.

About 90 highly qualified and experienced employees work in our medium-sized, family-operated business group. Our dedicated

team of purchasers, project- and production engineers, constructers as well as metal workers, welders, mechanics and electri-

cians in our workshops are certified according to ISO 9001 an SCC. Our production processes include cutting, shaping, welding,

mechanical remachining as well as anticorrosive coating of components up to a size of 40 tons.

We are a specialized plant manufacturer in the area of high quality, individual plants for heat transfer from or to water-perfused compo-nents.

Melting and Recycling Processes

Our products range from furnace vessels and covers for electric arc furnaces, innovative ladle furnace covers with side-

draft hoods or even covers for carbide or plumb furnaces as well as electrode cooling. All of our constructions are water-

cooled and, as long as circumstances on site allow, designed as closed-loop circuits. This facilitates an easy leakage

detection and the regulation of the temperature level of the cooling water to prevent corrosion. This way, disruptions and

failures can be reduced significantly.

We develop – mainly for the metal and chemistry-working industry – solutions for thermal post-combustion and cooling of exhaust

gas from melting and recycling furnaces, converters and ladle furnaces. Our solutions can also comprise the decoupling and

ecologically-reasonably usage of waste heat from your processes. Our long-term experience and our profound knowledge of the

Know-how in automation technology and switchboard construction

KSK Automation GmbH resulted from a spin-off in 2015

and provides various services in the field of

automation technology and switchboard construction.

Our 10 employees, some of whom have decades of

experience, develop sustainable automation solutions

for all processes: from “mini PLCs” to complex,

individually programmed controllers.

We create the schematic diagrams for your control

technology and switchboards – predominantly low-

voltage switchgears – by using state-of-the-art tools like

Eplan 5.xx and Electric P8. We manufacture all custo-

mized controllers and switchboards in compliance with

current standards and regulations.

Certifications with regard to QMS (ISO 9001) and AMS

(ISO 45001 / if available) are in the planning or preparati-

on stage. We also assist you in finding optimal

solutions with respect to economic optimization of

existing systems, the so-called retrofit.

Utmost precision in the planning phase

KSK Concept & Engineering GmbH was founded in 2010 and specializes in the construction and development

of water-cooled components including pump stations and pipeline planning, pressure vessel and large container

construction as well as conveyor technology in the field of industrial and plant construction. Our six employees

have years of experience in these fields. Highest millimeter precision in the engineering phase prevents time-

consuming and cost-intensive rework during assembly and therefore ensures smooth project progress. Existing

systems in particular are not always carefully documented with regard to their growing status. This is why we

perform measurements with the aid of our Faro 3D laser scanner. The conditions on site can be determined

with millimeter precision due to the generated point cloud. The 3D modeling helps to identify interfering edges,

avoid collisions and plan custom-fit new constructions with respect to conveyor belts, large containers, hot gas

lines, electric arc furnaces, wire feeding systems, or other ancillary facilities of melting furnaces, pump skids or

pipeline planning. Naturally, we provide professional and easy-to-manufacture 2D drawings deriving from our

models.
