Introduction This cookbook is the final product of my Senior Project. It records the journey of baking I embarked upon this year. I attempted to bake a dessert from every country in the world because I enjoy cooking and wished to expand my skill in the field. This project allowed me to do something I love, while gaining lots of knowledge of baking and culture. Although I did not manage to meet my goal of 195 desserts, I did make 130. This is a large accomplishment and I have included them all in this book. One thing I discovered is that countries in the same region share similar desserts. Even though I made one dessert per country, each dessert could be shared by a number of countries. Therefore, in this book you will find many recipes that are similar to one other. I organized my book by dividing the countries into regions and then ordered them alphabetically. I represented each dessert I baked with a photo of the final result, plus a reaction paragraph. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the Vietnam dessert and deleted the one from South Africa, but those are the only two that do not have photos. I found the recipes from people, books, or the internet. When possible I have included the name of the book or website address for the recipes in the table of contents. However, there are a number of recipes for which I could not site the source because I had not recorded them. Originally, since I was not going to create a cookbook, I did not write them down. I am fully aware that my pages are not perfect. I believe this is okay because my project was not about graphic design or even making a cookbook. This was just a way to compile all of the recipes together and to have a product that I could hold. But it is part of my project which I have put much time into. Although the cookbook is not professionally published, the process was extremely valuable because I gained skill and knowledge about formatting. Finally, I would like to thank my mentor, Miss Erica, who helped me with proofing my paragraphs, page organization, and formatting. She was always willing to help, which was fantastic. Also, thanks to my dad who gave me advice, answered my questions, and who helped find ingredients. He paid for all the ingredients as well and, without that, my project would not have been possible. May you find this book enjoyable and inspiring as you explore these delicious and weird desserts.
