Cook to Coo A World First in our own backyard Climb Mount Cook Cycle 770km to Picton Kayak Cook Strait

description

Things didn't work out well on our first attempt of the "Cook to Cook" (climbing NZ's highest mountain - Mt Cook, then cycling 770 km to the top of the South Island, then kayaking across the Wild Cook Strait - the first time this has ever been done). First attempt 2011 - caught in avalanche and got frostbite Second attempt 2013 - survived food poisoning, a bike crash and laughing to death... Succeeded in making it!! What did we learn? This is the presentation I gave to one of our sponsors "Sport NZ" - we were a Hillary Expedition Fund recipient.
