Page 1: Conventions of Magazine

On the front cover of a magazine, it requires basic conventions such as a masthead (the name of the magazine), a main article photo to cover the centre of the page, and a headline which follows with a glimpse of the story.

To get the readers attraction, it requires a bold and eye catching masthead with an image which will instantly attract the targeted audience.

This is an example of a school magazine with a medium shot of two students, content and enjoying education.

School Motto

The front cover of the magazine determines what sort of image it represents as a magazine as a whole. It will always need to include a date line, to show when it was from for future reference maybe.

A contents page is important because it shows what the magazineincludes. Most contents pages include a selection of images, which

makes it a more interesting in itself. If there is a basic colour scheme,it will not confuse the reader and relate to the magazine.

Direct focus to the page, as it is the largest image on the page
