Zombie ConventionsPlot:- Follows a tight group of protagonists.- Slowly losing people from the group until it comes down to the last 2.- Last 2 usually survive.- Don't know whats happening at first.- Shoot in the head to kill.

Character types:- Level headed.

Representation of Characters:- Vulnerable. - Scared.

Setting:- Abandon.- Run down.- Enclosed.

Zombie ConventionsEditing:- Montage editing. - Temporal ellipsis.- Temporal extension.- Match on action.

Camera Work:- Close ups.- Long shots.- Extreme close ups.- Establishing shot.

Narrative Structure:- Zombies tend to outnumber the humans. - The number of humans may decrease due an ongoing apocalypse.- The humans try all they can to survive.- In some cases a solution is found that helps the protagonists overcome the antagonists.

MES:- Old clothes with blood.- Weapons to help shows who the weaker people are.

Use/Develops๏ Chase scenes with Zombies running after the teenagers.๏ Blood involved regarding the Zombie.๏ Weapons used to help show that they are prepared for what can happen.๏ There is a weaker member of the group.๏ Fear is shown through the teenagers running away.

Convention Use/Develop/Challenge Film example

Abandoned location

UseThe chase scene takes place

down a side path which is rarely used.

Weaker member DevelopsThe weaker member of the

group struggles to breathe due to not having his inhaler.

Weapons UseTwo of the three survivors have weapons as they are running.

They are the stronger members.

Blood and Gore UseOne of the survivors is covered

in blood to suggest he has been in a confrontation.

Death UseThe two stronger members result to leaving the weaker

member behind as they could also get caught if they stay.
